Ah that's normal! I feel it all the time even though I hv send many of my cats for spaying. Evrytime I send a new cat for the op I will be holding my heart on my palm. That's the hardest thing for me to do even though I know I hv the best vet to do the spaying.
I will nvr be at peace till I collect them back frm the vet the same evening.
Abt what to do after surgery.....hmmmmmm all my female cats reacted differently aft op, as for me I will follow what my doc. advise me, if she says my cat is too fat and need to be caged to minimize stiches being reopen...i will do so. But most of the time I will make sure the cat has a good rest with food and water at easy to reach level. And not forgetting the litter box too.
Other than this I will sure to give the antibiotics and the pain killers provided by my vet for a week is given to my cat as supplied. Always keep a look out on the wounds after the op....anything not in satisfying condition refer to vet immediately.
No bathing the cat during the healing process.
Oh yeah prior to op, make sure your cat is fasted at least 8hrs.....No food No water that is.
