Before you decide on a lion cut, please send the cat for proper vet check dulu. The problems may be a medical one and a lion cut may not be required. After the vet check, I would suggest you send the cat to some place like Alicia's shop (Pet Epicure) to assess coat damage. If the coat can be saved, I'm sure she can do it.  If the coat cannot be saved, then instead of a lion cut, I would suggest a No.1 trim. I would not recommend a lion cut unless a vet tells you it's necessary.
