Whatever it is make sure that your sphynx breeder has tested the breeding cats for HCM (if you do not know what HCM is, please google it, as sphynx cats are another breed that is easily prone to this disease and is inherited by genetic default) - this test is done by any reputable sphynx breeder around the world. Do not be afraid or shy to ask your sphynx breeder to send you a copy of the HCM results of the breeding cats results.
2. and a contract is signed between you and your breeder. The contract protects you and your breeder, the contract should state clauses like if your sphynx cat is found with a genetic fault condition, the breeder will replace your cat,etc. Most genetic faults are discovered usually after 6 months cos this is the time that cats go thru body maturation.
I am saying this because a few of us who purchased our sphynxes from Asian breeders are now having problems with our sphynx cats.
