Absolutely about the 'false' negatives - but PKD for a number of breeds is available as well as HCM in MCO and PK-D in abys. Still, for HCM, while it's necessary to ultrasound regularly until DNA tests for specific breeds are available, some should start younger than 2 yrs. A male can have been working for a year by then. But so many factors influence a scan - stress can alter heart rhythm, for a start. Roll on, DNA testing!
