Interestingly, some extraordinarily well-coated persians live in southern Queensland, where the temp seldom drops below 20 and breeders sure don't have obligatory aircon in the cats' quarters. More often there are free standing fans for what they consider really hot days. Their temps are normally high 20's early 30's for much of the year.
Below - pics of 2 persian males each of which won the ACF National - one in '87 and the other in 2005 - you can work out which is which!
