Well obviously, the risk you face will be higher at boarding places you're not familliar with but at the end of the day, the risk is to be treated just as real even if you board at places you know.

That's why experienced owners always make sure their cats are up to date on their vaccinations, they also make sure they don't forget to include flea/mite preventions before they release their cats for boarding.

This itself addresses most of the common health related issues. Anything else, some of Horatio's points on "inspection" should be adopted too.

You know, even if I board my cats at a friend's place, I'd still get my cats ready. The last thing I'd want to know is that my cats infected my friend's cats with fleas or something. It sometimes isn't about the rest, it also is about you too.

And Gothicca, pregnant? Paranoia man.
