Why is it called “Persian” in a first place because the face is not flat? What is the relationship between pedigree persian (peke face) and Chinchilla.

it had been recognizes by England cat association (USA more earlier).
and i know that persian chinchilla is one type of persian cat which was 'modified' from persian cat.tat's y ther got a 'persian' word infront of its name.
i'm not sure whether it hav relation with pedegree or not.
By the way, face of chinchilla is quite flat, and more adorable than persian....that's wat i feel of my own chincilla =)
