This is what I found in the Fife website.. any forumer can clarify or explain this type of class.. I think some of forumers might want to know more about this..

NOVICE CLASS

A cat can only be exhibited in the "Novice" class at a minimum age of 10 months in its own country after having been checked by the National Breeding Committee with regard to FIFe’s Breeding and Registration Rules. The judges must be informed in writing of the reason why the exhibit is in this class. A novice can only be exhibited once in the "Novice" class. Two signatures of different judges are obligatory. The novice cat must obtain the qualification "EXCELLENT" respectively "I" for non- recognized breeds in order to authorize registration.
