NOVICE CLASS

A cat can only be exhibited in the "Novice" class at a minimum age of 10 months in its own country after having been checked by the National Breeding Committee with regard to FIFe’s Breeding and Registration Rules. The judges must be informed in writing of the reason why the exhibit is in this class. A novice can only be exhibited once in the "Novice" class. Two signatures of different judges are obligatory. The novice cat must obtain the qualification "EXCELLENT" respectively "I" for non- recognized breeds in order to authorize registration.

Correct! but for Msia given that we do not have that many cat shows/competitions here.. it requires min of 2 for the cat to be certified as a pedigree.. But bear in mind as it will compete against other pedigree cats without certification.. the "fight" is tough.... and only those who s the best of them all for 2 times at 2 different shows and judged by 2 different judges will be awarded the "pedigree" title..

How to get your cat to compete under Novice Class... age 10 months above is as per what you found at FIFe website..

call me if you want to understand further about Novice Class or even about other categories... like Billmeow mentioned.. the September show is not an MCC show as such it does not have a Novice Class... as long as the cat has a certified pedigree it is considered as a pedigree cat and will be segregated between longhair and shorthair and of course by breed they belong too...
