Default Be aware of differences (NFO)

I went to the link above and I think it's terribly important that people are aware of the vast differences between the FIFe (MCC) and CFA (FSM) standards for NFO. Of course, FIFe is the original. When I read "spun silk, soft coat" (think that quote's right!) I thought "OUCH!" because I am a FIFe/ACF judge deep down (have judged them for CFA, applying the CFA standard, but de-programming my brain wasn't easy!) and was actually present at the FIFe General Assembly in Paris (1977) which accepted them as a breed..... so I must say that to me, the NFO is as per FIFe standard. The undercoat is to be woolly, but the "overcoat" is of glossy, coarse guard hairs - very special qualities and unlike CFA, texture is everything in an NFO coat - the full 25 pts - because it is a distinguishing feature.

I have seen freight manifests of shipments of kittens to S'pore which included NFO (those traders again!) so it's entirely possible there could be NFO about in Malaysia, but of course - no papers, no proof.
