Default The Guide to Owning an Exotic SH

Hi All,

I bought a book on Tuesday night, The Guide to Owning an Exotic Shorthair Cat by Karen Commings Tried to find the one I wanted so bad but couldn’t find it... yet.

I'm currently still reading it but I cant help but share some of the contents of the book with you all. I bought it from Popular Bookstore for RM30.10. Kind of cheap I guess since it's an old edition and it's only 64 pages.

Here are the excerpt of the book :

Exotic Shorthair Kittens

Exotic kittens are playful, inquisitive, alert, loving and mischievous – other traits they inherited from their American Shorthair ancestry. Expect them to stalk everything that moves, from crickets to houseflies. Exotic kittens enjoy jumping in the air after feather tease, chasing each other, your children or family dog and playing floor hockey with whatever rolls. Because Exotic Shorthair kittens are more inquisitive, they get themselves into things and consequently into more trouble. A Persian kitten may never climb your curtains, but that may not be true of an Exotic Shorthair.

They will fetch and can be taught tricks, such as lying down to be slid across the linoleum floor and coming back to slide again and again. After they’ve zoomed around your house for 20 minutes or so, they drop where they are for a quick catnap. As an Exotic human caregiver, you’re expected to walk around or step over them because they aren’t going to move.

So captivating and appealing are Exotic Shorthair kittens that you may just find them stealing the show whenever you have visitors. They like company and are social, so it’s not unusual for them to want to be the center if attention, making themselves at home on your guests’ laps as well as your own.

The pics are nice as the pics unlike the rest of the books are printed on glossy paper. Some of the cats look like a pet quality though and some are from the earlier Exotic SH days, where the nose are not centered and had a break in the middle.

I would suggest those Exotic Cat owners or a cat lover for that matter, who are thinking of getting an Exotic cats but doesn’t have a clue or have a limited knowledge as I am to buy the book. In fact, even if you already owned an Exotic and really understand them, it is still not a waste to own it as pics are wonderful and it can be added to your cat books collection as well
