shipping cat from any country (mostla) to msia is very simple.... once you have selected a cat... request the breeder to get the cats to get their rabbies shot... the cat(s) can only leave the country 30 days after the shot.... once this is done.. request the breeder to fax/email a copy of the cat vaccination card to you for you to apply for an import permit.. rm5 per cat... ready in 30 minutes.. microchipping for msia are not compulsory...

msia does not require sender's country to issue an export permit.. fax or email a copy to the breeder for her/him to book and confirm the ticket... as simple as that... at times 24 hours before your cat(s) arrive.. our local MAS Cargo office will call the recipient to confirm that on the recipient's details and informing the person that the cat(s) is on their way....

my suggestion is always select the route (flight schedule) yourself... preferable with the less transit possible.. stick to one or worst scenario two... Singapore Airlines, MAS, scandinavian airlines, KLM, British Airways.. have experienced handling cats.. I have personal experience with SIA, MAS, SAS (scandinavian) and BA...

clearance will be simple.. step 1 - collect consigment note from MAS E-commerce and pay off (cant remember how much).. then collect travelling document.. (RM10 I think per cat or per docket)... get clearance (endorsement) from custom.. collect cat and cleared it with the Vet office (RM50 per cat).... very much the procedure.... I am not sure whether the price will still be the same on the clearing part but I am pretty sure that it will not increase that much if they have decided to do so....

cats that come from russia does require 3 (21 days) weeks quarantine at the centre and 7 days home quarantine... only cat (s) coming from 11 countries does not require any quarantine.. i.e. UK, Australia, Isle, Sweden etc.

bear in mind... you will be bearing the shipment cost.. ask the breeder to check for you.. am not too sure how much it will cost from Russia...

The difficult part is clearing... system down lah... tulah nilah this n that.... biaserlah government dept. Make sure that your cat arrive early morning or afternoon so you can make the clearance easier. Animal Hotel will charge you a bomb if the cat stay there more than 2 hours if I'm not mistaken.

Some officer will escort you to the quarantine but some will ask you to do it yourself... tengoklah macam mana tahap kerajinan dier orang. They all knows that you wont run away with the cat coz they hold all the documents.
