Basic thing that we need b4 bring cat to our home
I believe others have given you sufficient information including items to be bought and whether to keep them indoor or outdoor. One very important consideration about having pets (cats, dogs etc) would be:- To think of what you should do or where to send them if you want to go for holiday. You have to consider… 1)It is recommended to have more than 1 cat especially if you want to keep them indoor. Imagine if we were kept by the alien from the auter space.. and we do not have companion from our own species. (Imagine.. how sad and lonely you would be) 2)To neuter/spay or not. For indoor and if you are not a good parents, please spay/neuter them or you will be facing problems like “marking territories” or “irritating meeoow mau”. 3)I repreat again the most important thing is.. you have to start looking for the best boarding place for your newly babies. It is for you to leave them during vacations or “balik kampong”. Some cheap skate owners would rent a small cage in the boarding place for their cats – the fee is cheaper than big cages. Well, it is up to you to make this decision. I have encountered some owners who lock their house and let their cats roam while they went for Hari Raya holiday. When asked, they said “Alaa…. Kucing tu pandailah carik makan sendiri.. dah nama dia kucing”. ???? ![]()

Hi Miaozbi,
Welcome to the forum. Well, this is my opinion to u lah... Since u're a student who needs company, perhaps i wud recommend to mix around with ur friends instead of getting a cat. I m not refraining or discouraging u to take a cat but it is juz a reminder. Since being a student, most of ur time would be classes, discussions n libraries n u wud need ur room for rest. The last thing that u want was a messy room coz by the cat. it takes a huge responsibility to take care even a cat. something u that wud take into cosideration 1st. u can ask ur friends who hv cats to give u some insights...

Hello Miaozbi, Before you get a cat for company, you have to consider the hours the cat will be left alone, your direct and indirect dorm mates and the size and quality of the dorm itself. Will you be bringing the cat back with you when you graduate or will you be leaving it behind? It might not be so easy for you to find someone suitable who would like to adopt the cat once it is older. Can you afford possible medical fees as well as important vaccination and sterilisation fees? If your cat is allowed to roam outdoors, you should sterilise him/her. I hope you think through carefully these factors before getting your kitty. Apologies if I come across quite harsh, I am only concerned about the welfare of cats. Good luck there! ![]() |

Hi Mia,
a place where a cat lives had to be well-ventilated so that the smell fr the poo or pee would not be linger in the room. provided u lived in a big room lah. i m sure u do not want to end up ur room filled with ammonia... n u also need to put nettings at ur windows so that ur cat would not.. u know... try to do the superman stunt. this is very important. leaving a small gap at the window would not help coz cat is a very curious animal. u might be surprised of a cat's capability n intelligent when he/she wants something... ![]()
