I am adopting a new male orange (or is it red) 2 1/2 months old beginning this week and I need advise on feeding him.

When I got Schwarz, he was 5 months old and he was given only dry food and he never set his mouth on the wet food. I found it convinient to me but less choice for him. (I think)

But as for Schuldich, I will like to try to introduce him to wet food so as not to make him too dependable on dry food. Is it adviseable to let him eat wet food at his age? Will giving him wet food making his poo watery and smelly?

And as for dry food, I realise RC for kitten only for the age of 4 months and above. So I bought Science Diet for kitten as it even cater for 1 month old kitten. Is it recommended for me to let him eat Science Diet until he reach his 4 months old and switch to RC for kitten?

I know this question has been asked many times but I cant find the thread. (I remember reading it) Is 4 months old enough to send for spaying?

My friend gave her little kitty RC Babycat34 for those 4 months and below. I think it is not advisable to give wet food all the time coz takut nanti ada masalah gums desease. Am I right all dearest forumners.

You can feed him wet - kitten. Make the wet food into a treat and not a dependency food. It's very expensive to maintain a cat on wet food only! It may make his poo less solid and more smelly.



Zarina is right. Royal Canin does have a special type of Kitten food for under 4 months - RC Baby cat. Pefect size kibbles for tiny mouths! But the choice is yours!




It should be okay to send a kitten for spaying at four months provided:

1. The kitten is in good health and weighs above 1kg
2. Your preferred vet practices early age neutering

I dont see any problem giving kitten any cat food as long its protien is more then 30%. I feed my kitten Fit32 since she was kitten and now she already 5 mth. She getting bigger no doubt about it.

its depands on the kitten it self ... you just test any cat food for the kitten. Which the kitten eat that the food for them

Too true! Mine get a pretty broad spectrum - some dry, some beef/kangaroo; occasional fish cans; shredded cheddar cheese...they sort out what they like all by themselves.

By the way, Schu first day is a fun day for him except the part he was hissed a lot by Schwarz. I hope this wont last long, Schwarz has been alone for 3 years and now he has a baby brother. I really hope he will accept Schu as part of the family.

Kangaroo question:
Are there so many kangaroos in Australia?
So its meat is for human consumption too?
Comes in cans?

No, doesn't come in cans...fresh. You bet there are so many kangaroos in Oz! Wallaby (a sort of smaller version) is perfectly edible for humans when it's teenage sized...tastes a bit like veal. NO fat involved at all.

Sounds tasty but cant get kangaroo meat here.
I think kangaroos / wallaby is native to Australia only.
Seeing one is already difficult.. not to think about eatin one..

Absolutely Oz only. (Naturally - they exist in zoos elsewhere!) Cats really love 'roo' meat, and it's very good for them, but I do mix mine 50/50 with beef or in winter, with mutton, because the extra fat in the mutton is necessary for them
