Ok... I dont get what you mean.. but.. based on my very little knowledge in cat show's title... I think:

To win a CH, you need to win in 4 rings. As Horatio said, if your cat is the only breed, color and sex in that class, he will definitely win a ribbon. 4 rings show, your cat could earn the title CH.

Ok, once CH, your cat can compete to collect his grand points. To GC, 75 points are needed. So, 1 point rewarded for each champion cat you you beat. Please note that, you can only collect grand points only when the cat already champion.

Back to the point collecting for Grand Championship, let's say you have 1 ring show, the number of champion cats entering the show are 80. Then, suddenly your cat become Best Cat.. that means he beat 79 other cats

79 other CH cats = 79 points awarded. Automatically your cat is already GC.

Let's say your cat is the 8th Best Cat, so that means, your cat beat 71 CH cats, so only 71 Grand points awarded, short of 4 points to get a GC. So, you can collect that 4 points in the next show.

This is what I think and understood lah... so, those show experts, please correct me if I'm wrong.

p/s: If your cat is good, enter him in shows as much as you can. The more cats he beat, the higher the chances of him becoming a RW.

Well !! if only we hv tht many CH in every show then we will hv a lot of 1 show grand. The A'Famosa show consist of only 16 CH & on top of tht 2 absent. If u happen to b the Best All Breed CH in all 4 rings then u hv collected 52 GC point.

In the last Micatz show we hv 61 CH on the 2nd day & there will a few 1 show grand. In fact Malaysia has 2 (Loon Neo of Proventus & Felis Wonder Lee Simon)1 show CH & Grand on tht show meaning CH & Grand in 1 show & tht make Simon as the first & only malaysian bred 1 show CH & Grand (Simon collected 187 GC point on tht day). After this happening CFA has make ammendment to the achievement of 1 show CH & Grand, there will b no more 1 show CH & Grand in future but there is still always the possibility of a 1 show Grand.

in the usa esp ppl like to GC their cats before selling.. am sure a lot of you have come across this. anyway i am here in the usa finally after 20 odd hours of flight and its the worst snowstorm in 13 years. great. freezing my butt off.

if I'm reading this right, that means Simon is the ONLY ONE forever 1 show CH and Grand. Congrats!!!

Is that suppose to means next time, cat who won CH in the show cannot compete for Grand in the same show??

True as what H and Karl say. It is easy to get the 4 winner flag (obtains CH or PR) if the cat is unique (breed or color) but if there many same breed with same color competing, it is not easy at all.

To see whether your cats are really good is to go for Grand. That is what I am looking for now even if I am not a breeder.

ya i wont be at the show. .. i wish i was looking for a sib hehe. but im not..wil b here for a month for school. back end dec.

Just a couple of things:

1. The were 2 cats (Malaysian bred or owned) that went from open to grand last july...Coony's Simon and Proventus' Neo.

2. The above (open to grand in a 2 day show) cannot be repeated ever again as the show rules have changed. The new changes will be effective on the 1st weekend of May 2007. So, Simon and Neo will go down in history with the 3 other cats (2 more from Micatz '06 and 1 in Russia) that has ever done so!

The new rules are a bit more complicated but workable and it all has to do with the number of winner ribbons previously collected.

If your cat had already collected 1 - 3 winner ribbons prior to the two day show, and subsequently collects the required number of ribbons on the first day, then you can claim Championship at the end of the first day and compete for Grand points on the 2nd day.

If your cat had NO winner ribbons at all on entering the first day of competition, collects 4 winner ribbons at the end of the 1st day, it will be shown as an open still on the 2nd day of competition.

Calculating points for DW remain unchanged in any effect and irrespective of titles!
