Muslyn the siberian breeder in australia told me that someone wrote to her saying that she and her son were asthmatic.. So I assumed you were her, sorry![/QUOTE]

Oh yes! i did! i inquired about Siberian cats after reading about it. But i don't think she replied my email. The one who replied to my query is from Russia. She said our climate is not suitable for Siberian cats.

I find that statement very funny! If we can find a way to make our Malaysian bred Persians grow 6-8" coats, our Maine Coons and Norwegians grow full winter coats, even in our weather, there's no reason why we can't do the same for Siberians? This is what we call a "misconception". Most breeders worldwide don't know how far we are willing to go, and how much money we are willing to spend to get optimum coats...just look at me for example, I breed Abys and the cats still get an airconditioned room!

Thanks for sharing your experience Lyd. I think we should be alright then. Coz I recently went to a Bengal cat cattery with my family. Sooo many cats & my son didn't show any signs of allergy. He played with the cats. I asked him to wash his hands immediately when he's done. My aunty once said, jgn manjakan diri sgt. Allergies can happen to anyone, anytime, & can disappear anytime.

Right now, tgh save money to get bengal. heheh.. I'm planning to take my kids to the cat show this sunday. this will be our 1st time attending a cat show. Selalu miss je.. coz we lived in Swk several yrs ago. My uncle is not happy about it. takut sgt his favourite grand nephew semput! Coz he told me, his neighbour, a doctor has several persians, & selalu kena attack. everyday must take medication & inhaler.

btw, what time does the cat show start?

The show is open to the public from 10am to 5pm. I would caution you to bring an inhaler at the very least to ensure nothing untoward happens!

muslyn.. wats her name? the one from russia? ive never had any tell me that.. what most russian breeders say is that their cats are kept in and at lowest, 22 degrees on heat most of the time. So they are pretty well prepared for apartment life. although ours get aircon at home, they love the heat.. they sleep near the windows when its hot. no panting or thirsty cats in our house!

if you wrote to marie from aussie, she did email you back and told you to check with me because you would require an allergy test and she cant send you a cat unless she's sure that you and your son would not be allergic. she forwarded me your email and told me to wait for your mail.

Heartkiel, this is the reply i received fm the Russian breeder.

Dear Mus and,Azlin,
Thank You for the interest of siberian cats.
I can not recommende the siberian cats for You.
The siberian cats are not very allergic but some people react on cats allegens.
The siberian cats are the north race and climate of South Asia is not very comfortable.
The such long wey also is not good for the
kittens.
I wish You all the best in New Year
Victor

heartkiel, you're right! she did reply to my email.ohh you're the Sib cat breeder in Spore. hmm don't know when i can visit you. If my husband has some work in JB this yr, I'll let you know. Do we have to do the allergy test? i remember i did that some 20 yrs ago..at that time i didn't develop asthma yet but have sinus. Test results,.. 8/10 allergic reactions, including plush toys.! Doctor asked me to avoid carpets & my teddy bears. Of course i didn't do anything about it. Still eat seafood, teddies on my bed & lots of carpet in the house (i love Persian /Turkish carpets)

very strange of victor since he was perfectly ok selling me one.
nvm.. its ok. maybe he thinks singapore is in china

no pressure to come drop by, only if you really want to. we cant currently anyway because the cats are mixed together with other breeds.. will take awhile before anyone can come by for a proper test with the cats.
8/10!! Oh boy.. will mail u a copy of the allergy questionnaire and we'll see how you do.
