i was wondering.. is it healthy if the cat take a 3 hr drive as in from kl to perak? or wherever.. taking them travelling in general. will it cause stress to them and such??
say ur taking ur pet with u when ur off studying.. so the cat will travel 3 hrs then stay for 2/3 mths then brought back then take back again n stay another 2/3 mths..

from my past experience its ok... as long as you keep them in a carrier or a soft bag. give them travelling pill, at rm5 per tablet and divide the pill according to the cat's weight. 1 pill is for 4 kg cat.

my first time bringing my lalang home i put him inside my bag (still a small kitten) and give him the pill. that time is hari raya holiday, so nobody in the hostel can take care of him. the second time is after i finished my study. my cat adapt well at my home

and yes, the first time is on a bus, my cat got to ride a comuter, lrt, taxi and finally the express bus... second time is by my dad's car

oh? there's a travelling pill? what does it do particularly? my meow has no problem travelling, but there are times when he just can't keep quiet. tatau la over excited ke, or boring, or uncomfy...

Travelling pill yg dimaksudkan ialah pil penenang.... a sort of medicine that makes a cat calm. Advisable to use it shud one's cat seldomly travel but if ur cat is used to travel in a car, then no need lah. the other reason u give this sort of pill is to avoid ur cat pee or poo shud ur cat got nervous (like my Wesley who would pee in his carrier). juz to save ur headache n insanity as well...

yup, advisable to use it if the journey is long.....

save you headache and pity your cat esp if the carrier is small and crowded... when i brought eowyn and tusy from kl to jb, i don't use it as my friend said the cats are used to travelling. but halfway, the cats got restless and meowing "are we there yet?" luckily, both of them don't make any mess. good also coz i got two roomy carrier, so each got their own place

oh..ye ke... ade side effect ke? shd i take my meow on a long journey, i shd consider giving it to him oso... so, need to confirm that there's no biological, chemical, psychological or physical after-effect...

no side effect but u should observe the cat or cage it after u give him the pill. the cat will stay sleepy about a few hours... perhaps the first time will scare you, but actually its ok... but pls don't abuse the pill

can get the pill at vet and can ask him

well... ubat penenang nie tak ade lah side effect long term... give ur cat the pill half an hour b4 u start ur journey. Put him in the carrier n usually he wud juz sit there derk aje... most also one 2 meow aje lah... depending on ur cat, the derk effect tu wud last for couple of hours tapi kalau bleh jgn bagi lagi lah kat dia... unless he really meow uncontrollable till menggangu konsentrasi pemanduan anda. u can always talk to ur cat... like one meow n u reply, 'Nak Apa?' or 'Yelah.. dah nak sampai dah...' etc... selagi ko layan dia, maka less tension dia lah...

n remember never use human's pil penenang on ur cats vice versa!!!
