Hi everyone,
My 8 month old kitten is worrying me a little. He is, for the most part, extremely well behaved. The thing is, he keeps on jumping onto the top of my cooker, then onto the top of the kitchen door (!!!!!!) then onto the top of the fridge, where I can't reach. I don't mind where he goes in the house (as long as he doesn't sit on the piano keys) but I am worried one day he is going to jump onto the cooker while the hob is still hot and singe his paws. How can I stop him jumping onto the cooker? I normally lift him down, put him into the next room and shut the door, but it doesn't seem to work. Is it right that I should lift him down, then turn my nose up at him to ignore him? I read that is the right thing to do somewhere... Anyway, any help discouraging this behaviour would be appreciated ![]() Dan |

Hi,
Maybe you can try the spray which prevent your cat from the furniture, maybe you can spray it around the house where you don't want your cat to go.. I don't exactly know what is the name but they have it bottled with a face of worried cat on the label!~ There are a few, maybe you can give a try first and hope this helps!~ |

Yea, I think besides trying to discourage this behaviour with what you're currently doing, like Croo said, you can use a deterrent spray that deters your cat from visiting the places that you sprayed. Petshops have them. A pet rescuer gave me a home remedy tip i.e vinegar or lemon juice. Cats hate those ![]() Good luck!
