Just being curious why do cats shake their butts when they are gonna attak?

I have no idea...but ain't it just sooo Cute!!

So that we know when to keep our fingers and toes out of the 'attack' zone

Well at least that is the more practical aspect of the butt shaking.... my cats are shaking their butts daily since I bought them little furry toy mice... To me, I have always viewed it as 'winding up their little hind feet'... like a toy clock mouse which one has to wind up before it sprints off.....

But whatever it is, butt shaking or feet winding, they look very cute and serious as they prepare themselves to pounce on their object of desire......

ooo..that shaky2 bonbon thing eh? sooo supercute...sexy..peewweett... maybe itu their style of 'bunga2' b4 jumping/attack something, ala..mcm org silat, ada bunga2 gak kan...hehehhehe

Why does my cat shake its butt at me when I come home.Its not attacking anything.It shakes its butt somtimes and he always rubs against my leg when he or I come inside.

this wud b a natural behavior of cat so need not worry abt it. rubbing ur leg is one way ur cat show his/her affection to u. as per shaking the butt thing, well, sometimes cats see our feet as a toy n wud try to catch it...

Your cat's face (near his cheeks) will have lots of scents. He will rub his face against your skin to leave his mark on you. Every other cat will be able to smell your cat and know that you have a cat with you. Normally done to claim you as territoty.

As for the shaking butt thing - do you actually mean your cat shaking his tail? Unlike dogs who shake their tails in affection, a cat shakes its tail as a sign of aggression. Like when they are going to 'serbu' an enemy or a toy.... it's a natural instinct found in all feline. Just look at Discovery channel for any lions/tigers/leopards getting ready to attack.
