I adopted 2 cats, a male and a female, both a year old. They both have been with me for a month now. Both have been very sweet to me. I collected the female cat from the vet today, after she got spayed. Then the male cat, for no apparent reason, clawed my legs from behind when i was walking towards the kitchen and tried to bite me. He did it twice. I was sure he wasn't being playful because he was hissing at me and "howling" at me. It was scarry, he looked like he wanted to attack me. Then he hissed at the female cat and tried to scratch her, too. And he hissed alot at the cat carrier which I used to carry the female cat. He was perfectly alright before this. What is happening? I'm afraid of him now and don't dare to even go near him. What should I do? Please help!

my 2cents, he could be seriously sick.... --> go to a vet to check him out. or he is just stressed for other reasons. has anything changed in the house? i think the feliway spray should work to calm him down, spray it around the house. btw have u clipped their nails? if u haven't then u should do it when he is calmer. |

are they just been introduced when you took the female for spayed?
my guess..the male must be uncomfortable with the female smells..erm, lock the female in the separate cage...let he smells her for 1-2 weeks before actually slowly/carefully introduce them back...(make sure the female already covered from the operation before introduce them) |
