I got a little boy kitten on monday this week. There was an add for free kittens so I called and went to pick one up. I already have a puppy so we wanted to get a kitten that would bond with our puppy. The lady said that he was 5 and a half weeks old I thought it was pretty early but she told me that it was fine. So we took a little taby kitten home. He bond wonderfully with our puppy and they love to sleep together. He seems very healthy and we're going to take him for his first check up when he's 8 weeks old. He's now 6 weeks and 1 day. Anyways here's my problem he won't stop meowing. Day or night you name it. The only time that we have peace and quiet it's when he's sleeping or eating, other then that it's meow meow meow. I have very little patience left!
I'm desperate for a solution. Any help would be fantastic. |

Hi andreanne, there's 2 situation to your case. 1. When a kitten leaves its family and goes to a new home, they will miss their family/previous companions and start meowing for a few days looking for them. Its normal. Distract your kitten with toys , balls, crushed paper to play with it. 2. If it doesn't go away in a week, then it could be a health issue. Bring your kitten to the vet and explain everything to the vet. However, you do not need to wait for a week to see if the meowing persists, you may bring him to the vet asap. If nothing is the problem with your kitten, at least you can have peace of mind with the insistant meowing It will not last long....good luck!
