hi... im new here...can u guys help me to solve my cat problem which is so likely to scratch sofa..dah naik berbulu dah sofa rumah...mana tahu kalo2 ada tips...thanx

First you kena potong kuku kucing (bahagian yang tajam sahaja)


Then beli scratching post untuk dorang mencakar.. you can do it yourself by using box. i hope you tahu apa maksud i buat guna kotak tu..

if it didnt work, maybe you kena sabar sikit kot, bagitau dia not to scratch on the sofa.. mesti dia paham punya

elfreakz, i did that..potong kuku..beli scratching post as well...tapi dia suka jugak kat sofa..kenapa ye? bgtau dia..tak paham2 jugak..

I bought the scratching board for them....but they still did it on my sofa..but i try to monitor their moved if i freed them....everytime they did it on my sofa..i will talk to them not to do it and i ask them to do it at the scratching board and so far so good...they are listening....

About bulu..i am using vacuum or selotape to remove..easy and no cost..heheh

scratching post tu, dia pernah pakai or tak pernah pakai langsung?

my case dulu, yang adult memang tak layan benda tu. but when they saw the kitten scratching situ, baru semua mengikut. i put the scratching post and boxes near to the sofa.. they play that one instead of landing on the sofa. they will only sleep on it, but tak kacau pun.

and i have this tikar sarawak yang di buat dari kulit kayu (some sort like that lah)... they like that much better than the sofa

i have 2 cats actually, yg satu tu kecikla 2+months, dia mmg tk pi kat sofa and he only scratch the post..yg lagi satu 5+months mmg dr dulu dia suka sofa, actually i br jer beli the scratching post bout a month ago, dia ada la pakai once in a while bila dia nampak the other cat pakai..but still she loves the sofa...hehehe..

My cats r all trained to scratch specific places only. As cat owners, we need to understand why they scratch, things they like or prefer to scratch.

I provide pieces of rough wood at strategic places (example, I tie a flat rough plank from a fruit crate vertically at the side of every one of their cages which they scratch excitedly each time they see me). I also place a cheap sisal mat from IKEA on the ground and they just love to scratch there too.

Besides all that, I put a big rough heavy plank of wood in the garden and this is their favorite, mesti semua orang pegi give a good scratch several times a day. Upstairs the kids have a choice of the sisal mat, the vertical wooden plank in their cage or 2/3 thick cardboard boxes which they also use to play hide-and-seek and ambush/pounce/stalking when let out of the cages.

U must stop them from any new places that U do not want them to scratch by using yr hand. Quickly and gently stop them immediately by cupping their tiny paws with yr hands, then distract them or carry them away, bcos once started, there r marks and scent on the spot that will cause the whole troop to carry on scratching and very, very hard to stop. Thank God to this day, none of my cats scratch any of my furniture at all!!

I never clip my cayangs punya claws and never will becos I firmly believe they r a weapon for their protection: they need to climb and escape danger quickly as well as if defend themselves if attacked!

fuh..ini pon masalah aku jugak nih..Meekee aku tak cukup scratch post ..kat TV pon dia scratch yang best tu sampai aku naik ngilu..chaitss nasib baik tv lama..tapi lps ni kalu bli tv baru kena letak tempat tinggi la ...

dulu anak2 saya rajin gak scratch kat tepi2 pintu bilik, bilik air...saya pegi kat pet shop tanya untk tak nak scratch kat merata2 terutama kat sofa..saya beli.ianya dlm bentuk spray..just spray kat tempat2 seperti tepi2 pintu...so dia tak kan scratch kat situ lagi.kucing2 tak kan suka dgn bau spray tersebut.

menurut owner pet shop tu, spray tu mengandungi bau2 seperti buah2an yg busuk..kesannya sampai sekarang kucing2 saya tak cakar dimerata2 tempat lagi..

elok lah dah byk benda dlm rumah dah dijahanamkan oleh anak2 ku sebelum jumpa spray ni

actually kucing i dah kurang scratching sofa lg dah.. 1st mungkin sbb dulu dia takder kawan skang dah ada dah.. 2nd skang ni dia dh mula syok scratch rubber mat kt dapur..okla tu benda murah and 3rd i kasi dia subconcius mind trick sket kt dia..tgh dia tidur tu i direct dia jgn cakar sofa lg..hehee..mmg cam gila tp menjadi kot?..
