from what i know lah (from the paper) the zoo will sell their animals to another zoo or part of their barter trade. they ehm, need to get rid of certain animals to prevent congestion. the zoo that bought need that animal, perhaps for breeding purposes...
usually, these things like the birth of an animal, esp the dying breed or some barter trading thing will become big news in newpaper with real big pic of the animal many zoos in the world do the barter trading or sell their animals, is better than to caught another from the wild |

Many exotic breeders that I had contacted do tell that some of their stock is from Zoo... since they come with papers so no action can be taken to them. Not all Zoo are fortunate... even Zoo Negara is struggling with finance problem... and luckily there some aid from the government and private sector but how about the Zoo in the undeveloped countries or Zoo that without much off government support ? They need to feed the animals... so without having other choice... they have to sell of some of the animal that they breed. As I say before they will not sell to normal people but to those high profile exotic breeder and these people would sell to anybody that have papers ready and money. I know that many will not agree to this but this is what happening right now. It did not happen in our country so we can’t do anything about it... like whale hunting by Japan... illegal porches... unplanned development and so on. Soon the wild is no longer a safe place for them to stay.
I don’t encourage people to have exotic which they cannot handle and take care of. Example of successful exotic breeder: http://www.eraser.com.my/home.htm ... http://allmalaysia.info/news/story....4&sec=mi_pahang Besides birds and ALC... he also has other exotic like primates, fox and so on... some would question his ability before he even start but he proves that he can do it. All the animal are well place. Now he breeds many almost extinct local and other wild birds. Many would know his background and agenda which I think no need for me to discuss here. I don’t think many would do what he has done like quitting his job and take care of the exotic and spend tons of money on them instead buying a S class. If you are willing to do all this then only you are prepared to have an exotic. Don’t just buy and dump it one side... they are not for show but to have your tender love and care.
