The reason why I like Chinchilla is because they are fluffy + big head but their faces are not flat. I have never seen Chinchilla in Malaysia until my aunt bought it from Belgium last 2 month.

Her Chinchilla is still a kitten, and cantik nyeeee. Dont ask me the price she bought lah... I cant afford it. That is why I want to find a local breeder for Chinchilla.

Below is the type of Chinchilla face that i like. Long nose with big beauty eyes. Oh.. her face melts my heart.

i like chinchilla becoz of the white fur (my cat arwen), the mascara lining (my cat estel) and green eyes (my cat tazzie)

but generally i like chinchilla becoz their ethereal look and their emerald green eyes. so pretty i would swear i'm looking a "cat angel"

i have never seen a real chinchilla, only from pictures

When I have the time, I will take the photo of my aunt's baby Chinchilla (almost 5-1/2 months). Eeeeeeeee cuteeee especially when she tried to lick her fat belly.

Just some update for those who are interested to know.

Chinchillas are recognized by CFA (The Cat Fanciers’ Association) and they fall under the category of “Persian - Silver and Golden Division”.

The judging will be slight different than a standard Persian as standard Persian’s face is flat.

i know australia got this breed and my hong kong net friend also have a blue golden shaded female. it look really beautiful and lovely

Hye Jay!!! Based on my experience bfore... I used to breed chinchila... Its a Male & 2 Female... D male is Shaded Silver Tabby, d female is Shaded Silver/Silver Tipped & Golden Chinchilla... Correct me if i'm wrong...Basically, as far as i concern if u r trying to say that when a Persian must be Peke-Faced, i guess theres a mistake... In Persian... Back to d old traditional type,they started with a semi-face when times goes fly... todays persian has resemblance their face to a peke-faced varieties & if u go through, Persian face has three type of quality as;
Show Quality
Breed Quality
Pet Quality

Even a pedigree Persian still produce some semi-face/semi flat/flat face/peke-faced face quality then...
Back to d chinchilla... One of the silver tipped died fall from my previous condo(balcony)... And d pair i've sold it to Adnan-breeder in semenyih... U may try call him coz he has some of his chinchilla comes w paper.


If want to own one, u've to make sure they r;
Chinchilla u can recognize it with black eyeliner at rim of their eyes / CELAK
They have it also at their lips / mcm pakai gincu hitam gitue...
They have brick red nose...
Green eyes, Blue Green eyes....
Shorter legs....
Thats why they call Chinchilla likes SUPERSTAR amongs all persian...
Negative from LEUKIMIA... Prevention ius better than cure!!!!

Thanks for the clarification, I definitely want a show quality BUT the Chinchilla must not have flat/peke face (I am sorry, I dont really like flat face cats). I always heard people said that a non-peke face Persian is not a show quality.. I truly hope it does not comply to Chinchilla too.

About the breeder in Semenyih, can I have his phone number? And do you know what association his cattery is associated with? I prefer CFA.

PS- Since we are talking about Persian and Chinchilla, may I know is it true like what I always heard that non-peke face Persians are not show quality?

i don't have any pedigree show cats but i do read a lot of books and websites.

for pedigree persians, also have the non-faltface, called dollface persians. said to be the original head type. same as siamese cats, also have applehead - means the head is round instead wedge.

for chinchillas, chinchilla persian have more flat look than chinchilla longhairs. it is said that chinchilla longhairs from south africa is the original chinchilla due to closed gene pool during apartheid regime.

as for showing the cats, flatface persians are favoured in the show ring, same as siamese, the applehead goes to the backseat. for chinchilla, the chinchilla persians rules the show.

it is just that these extreme facial features are more favoured in the ring, ana of course win more... i read that the traditional type of persians, siamese and chinchillas do not show their cat because of their frustration of not winning anything despite entering shows for a couple of times

aiya jay, i'm not trying to dampen your spirits or being rude but most of my readings said chinchilla longhairs aren't favored in the show ring. but chinchilla persians isn't that flat like other type of persians... chinchilla persian is judged in a different method than the persians... chinchilla persians fare quite well in the rings...

about show quality or not i have no idea... but for South Africa chinchilla longhairs, they are certainly stars in their own right - being advertising industry stars

there's quite a lot of websites in the internet regarding the chinchillas, i'm sure there'll be something that can guide you better

if you want to show your chinchilla, getting a chinchilla persian (breed 10) is quite a safe bet

not all hope is dashed...
