To Persian breeders or whoever who has knowledge in this matter, I like to know whether Persian Chinchilla is recognized by any cat associations, and if they do which one?
Why is it called “Persian” in a first place because the face is not flat? What is the relationship between pedigree persian (peke face) and Chinchilla. Those who just guessing for answers, better don’t do it because I wish to know the real answer rather than getting “I think aaaa”… as an answer. Thanks

u can refer to this link for a bit history of the chinchillas
http://moggycat13.tripod.com/id47.html http://www.catworld.co.uk/articleca...RTID=1149&pre=1 i love looking at chinchillas too but i'm quite confused. there's chinchilla persian (breed 10) and there's chinchilla longhairs (breed 99). before this what i know is only silver chinchilla and golden chinchilla. but looking though lots of pictures, it seems like chinchilla longhairs are more ethereal looking than chinchilla persian. chinchilla longhairs can be said as made in south africa local breeders? any clarification? Uhm, thanks Catalina.
From the article, it says Chinchilla Persian breed is recognized by GCCF (The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy) and FIFE (Federation Internationale Féline) only. And I myself is confused with the breed and its standard (breed 10 and 99). Some Chinchillas do have flat faces (although not as flat as Persian) but most Chinchillas faces are not flat. I am currently looking for a non-flat face Chinchilla. Look at the photo below. She is awesomely beautiful! How can I resist? |

Uhm.. now I think I got it. Yup, youre right about them. I think the one I like is not Chinchilla Persian but Chinchilla Long Hair (Breed 99). Great, at least I am more clear about them by now. Thanks again.
Breed No 10: Chinchilla Persian Breed No 99: Chinchilla Longhair |
