Correct! but for Msia given that we do not have that many cat shows/competitions here.. it requires min of 2 for the cat to be certified as a pedigree.. But bear in mind as it will compete against other pedigree cats without certification.. the "fight" is tough.... and only those who s the best of them all for 2 times at 2 different shows and judged by 2 different judges will be awarded the "pedigree" title.. How to get your cat to compete under Novice Class... age 10 months above is as per what you found at FIFe website.. call me if you want to understand further about Novice Class or even about other categories... like Billmeow mentioned.. the September show is not an MCC show as such it does not have a Novice Class... as long as the cat has a certified pedigree it is considered as a pedigree cat and will be segregated between longhair and shorthair and of course by breed they belong too...

[QUOTE=Jay]Hit this link to know more about NFC.
http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/norwegian.html I went to the link above and I think it's terribly important that people are aware of the vast differences between the FIFe (MCC) and CFA (FSM) standards for NFO. Of course, FIFe is the original. When I read "spun silk, soft coat" (think that quote's right!) I thought "OUCH!" because I am a FIFe/ACF judge deep down (have judged them for CFA, applying the CFA standard, but de-programming my brain wasn't easy!) and was actually present at the FIFe General Assembly in Paris (1977) which accepted them as a breed..... so I must say that to me, the NFO is as per FIFe standard. The undercoat is to be woolly, but the "overcoat" is of glossy, coarse guard hairs - very special qualities and unlike CFA, texture is everything in an NFO coat - the full 25 pts - because it is a distinguishing feature. I have seen freight manifests of shipments of kittens to S'pore which included NFO (those traders again!) so it's entirely possible there could be NFO about in Malaysia, but of course - no papers, no proof. Should have said - there are quite significant differences in the type requirements, too. Lesley |
