It'd be wise to get your cats DNA tested for PKD, anyway, so you can be 100% certain on that one! Your breeding cats, of course. As I said, Gribbles in Melbourne do it. No need for a vet - they send the buccal swabs to you, you follow the instructions (basically, you rotate the little brush thing inside the cheek for 15 secs) pack it up, post to Gribbles and you should have a result in 2 wks. Hi Lesley,
I totally agree with you. My exotics' parents were all scanned PKD neg but I'm going to do the DNA PKD test anyway to be nearly 100% sure. Its great as I can do it myself and just send it to the lab instead of waiting in the vet office and best of all my cat don't get wet by the US jelly.Ive ordered for it last week. This is a link to UCDavis Veterinary Genetic Laboratory where you guys can get more info about PKD and DNA testing.Countries that offer this service is UK,Ireland,Europe,US,Canada,Japan and Korea. There is non in Malaysia as far as I know. http://www.vgl.ucdavis.edu/service/cat/PKD.html Hope this help ![]()
