Why You Should Not Buy Animals from Petshops... read this link

"A man of kindness to his beast is kind... A brutal action shows a brutal mind... Remember, He gave thee speech and formed him mute... He can’t complain, but God’s all-seeing eye... Behold the cruelty and hears his cry... He was designed thy servant not thy drudge... Remember thy Creator is thy judge..."

Great work Azhar and Horatio. I am no expert in Persians but if any of you don’t know how the real cats that supposed to be called "Persian" look like.. I think Azhar has done enough homework to educate us.

So if anyone claimed some DLH (Domestic long hair) as Persian, you can at least now tell the different.

And one more thing, even if the cat looks exactly like Persian but they don’t have proper paper, the cat's origin can also be doubted.

In many occasions, mixed cats can also resemblance pedigrees, so remember:-

1) Before believe it, please ask for the paper. And when i said PAPER, I am not talking about self printed paper. If you don’t know how the real certificate looks like, please ask reputable breeders. (Attached is one of my Maine Coon CFA cert and the bloodline 5 generations- I erase my fullname. I only have CFA, and those who have others can post it in here too. )

2) Before buying, please read a lot about the pedigree characteristic, what are NOs and Yes.

Azhar has given details about the head, ears, body and etc characteristic about Persians, please read and ask him if you still don’t know.

If I am not mistaken, the minimum price of Persian with CFA/FIFE/TICA cert price is RM1500. About the price, you can ask the breeders.

OK - will attach the original (WA) registration of a cat I got from Margaret Bush a mere 19 years ago (!) for my exotic programme. This shows her initial registration with FCCWA, which is what any breeder with registered cats should be able to produce. Then, the reverse of that registration certificate showing transfer to my name on FCCWA register...and the CCCT (Tasmanian) transfer into my name on our books. Forgive me for not posting her certified pedigree here in public - it would be too easy to "recycle" if someone wanted to!!!

Default FIFe Norway (NRR) litter reg

This is a sample of what the breeder gets back when she registers a litter.... one such form for each kitten. Once someone buys this kitten, the breeder would send in a transfer to NRR and another such cert would be issued in the new owner's name.

The others don't seem to be here, but no problems! Given the confusion about what constitutes a proper pure bred kitten or cat, it seemed wise to give samples of what buyers should demand if they're told they're buying (and paying for) purebred. And let me tell you, it doesn't add anything to the price of a kitten - if breeders are legit, this is part of a kitten's birthright. If this sort of paperwork isn't available for kitten and parents - forget it - you're being "had" if they claim pure bred!!!!
