Tortie tabby or ticked occur when you mate a tortie to a tabby, of whichever pattern (classic/botched; spotted; mackeral; ticked) It's a combination of tortie pattern and tabby pattern.

Hope that helps a bit!

that explains why Lulu my ticked tortie has a handful of colours... BTW, why her underside is not ticked? the colour there is prettier anyway

Default Calico

Is an Americanism for a tortie and white.

Ever looked at the belly of an abyssinian? (The ultimate ticked tabby) No ticking - just straight, glorious colour.

nope but my other black ticked tabby got a bit rusty underneath but very pretty there, no ticking too...

sorry for asking silly questions they're my first ticked tabbies...

luckily both loves to be handled and belly rub so i can inspect their colour whenever i like

i like abys and somali too, for their wild look the closest i can get is my black ticked tabby *sigh*
