I think, until now still no one here trying to breed this bred,Singapura is just like our domestic short hair cat,so mostlikely people see them as nothing impressive or special just DSH originated from our neighbourhood.*Singapore.

Singapuras are the smallest breed of pedigreed cat. They come in one color only, which is sepia agouti. They breed true and no Singapura kittens will result from breedings with regular domestic cats. The first 3 cats were indeed from Singapore. Later, taken back to the USA they were crossbred to come about with the cat we see today. In the 80s several more domestics were taken from Singapore to widen the genepool. They really are very kittenlike and maintain this nature until adulthood. They dont sit still!

hmm that you have to ask the breeder himself. do intro urself and explain why you want a singapura kitten. be prepared to be asked questions by the breeder. if you are really committed to getting one I guess I can say that price shouldnt be an issue for you. other than Singapore you can look to Japan, which i suppose is the next nearest to you or australia. But shipping wise you would save from Singapore most and I dont think there is any quarantine for u guys in msia.

Heartkiel - is that really YOU???? I thought you were one of the healthily sceptical! Just the other day I was showing my copy of the old SCC Singapura file to some of the interstate and overseas visitors (here for the National) - and when Tommy Meadows took over the SCC (then SFS) register, she had Pusse, Tess and Tikle down as breed 23 - ruddy aby in GCCF code....with her Usaf's prefix. She bred aby and burm. (And one of the cats which they took to S'pore was a blue Burm male) I've also been told by the sec of a breed council in the USA that in the early days, they came in chocolate. Hmmmmm.

i am i am! forgive me for not posting the long posts to explain that further have been rather busy n tired these days. guess if he wants the cat its not too bad since its as close as "regular" pedigree as compared to something like a munchkin. but anyway what do u make of tommy meadows' explanation about how they classified them as aby since the quarantine forms required a breed to be filled in? Its not a problem that is inconceivable. I had to get them to manually put siberian cat (they insisted i was trying to smuggle in a husky) on their online forms. Colorwise, they dont have things like "silver tortie tabby and white" so usually we just put down whatever sounds half closest like silver or something.
