Question Cow hocking??

Hello, I am new to this site and am so thankful to have found it. I am a new breeder and am trying to learn all that I can. A King was offered to me as a breeder but I noticed he has cow hocking and a bit of a protruding sternum. This is my first time seeing something like this and I don't know anything about it other than I would not be able to show him. Would someone please explain to me about cow hocking? Can it be passed on to the kittens? Is this painful to the King? This person told us not to worry that he would not pass it on. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thank you.

First, what breed are we talking about? Cowhocking can be symptomatic of other problems (which can vary with the breed) and believe me, it and a protruding (xyphi)sternum are heritable. Decline the offer!!!!

Cow hocking and protruding sternum are considered as a fault or penalties in cat shows. So it cannot be shown. This cat shouldn't be use for breeding either as it is hereditary and will pass on to the kittens. This cat should only be sold as pet to a loving caring home as it will have breathing and walking problem later in life. Cow hocking or toeing out can be painful for the animals so better bring them to the vet first and ask what are the potential problems before considering taking this cat in. Certainly cannot be use for breeding.

Default Cow Hocking

Thank you very much for the information. The cat is a Ragdoll and we were really unsure when the breeder kept telling us it would be fine to breed. I always appreciate learning new things.
