Default Looking For Male Orange/Red Persian For Breeding

We are interested in breeding my orange/red Persian cat, Gizmo. She's a very healthy 10 month old and she has a very soft and smooth coat. We're looking for a male orange/red Persian. To anyone who is interested, we can discuss the terms upon contact at jeanamadrelarsen@yahoo.com or alternately you can call 012-5977683 or 012-5167888. I have posted her picture for your viewing :-)

No Offence for that.... But You persian in the picture Looks like a DLH.... Well... Do you mind to tell us if you cat register with which cat fancier body? and in my opinion if you are not a breeder not much point breeding your cat unless if you are really can care for the litter and also manage to find a good home for you future litter but i can tell you is hard....

The reason why I want her to have kittens is because I want her to have some company. We live in an apartment and we are usually in school. I'm just taking this opportunity for her to have kittens because of all the other cats I have had in the past, this is the only one who hasn't got spayed. We are very well capable of taking care of her and her litter (If she ever has any) and there are a few of my friends whom I have promised if we ever get some kittens, we might give her one. And thank you for pointing out her breed. I never knew that. Blame the pet store for lying to me. I bought her in Ipoh. I never knew what *real* Persian cats look like because of all the pets stores I've visited in Ipoh & KL, no "Persian" labeled cats look real Persian. It's a tough world, hey...

And can you tell me what DLH stands for? I've never heard of this before.

Please, don't breed her just so she can have company! Get a (neutered) friend for her from a rescue situation. Giving her kittens away to friends can only complicate the unwanted cat situation unless you neuter them before they leave home... and it'd only be backyard breeders who would allow you to use a stud if you're not a registered breeder...and that could cause all sorts of health problems. 10mths is a little young to breed her - but what if she needs a caesarian to deliver? That can cost AUD 700+ out of hours. It's a huge committment, breeding - best you just find her a freind and have her spayed. Truly - what they never know (having kittens) they don't miss!

The real Persian details would be as follows http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/persian.html (hit the link) and on top of that, they must be sold with pedigree certificates from recognized cat’s associations. About petshops claimed that the "DLH" being a Persian or other pedigree cats, it is a common unethicel way of business. A pedigree cat loses its pedigreeness when they are mixed with other cats. Mixed cats come in 3 category, short hair, semi longhair and longhair.

Zorro has given you the 3 terms for non-pedigree cats.

I agree with Lesley, if you want to find a companion for your female DLH, please adopt a cat from animal shelters, friends or rescue one from the street and please spay your cat. Thanks.

Default So You Think You're An Expert?

First of all, I'm a little surprise at this site and the way people respond to things. I never once said my cat was a "pure pedigree" Persian and when we bought her it was because her owner was leaving the country and she gave it back to the pet store. She could've had papers but never handed it to the pet store? Lost them? Misplaced? Kept it as a memory? Maybe she was in a hurry that she forgot about it? According to many sites we've visited, including http://www.persian-cats.com/, not all pure Persians look like the one at the CFA.

When I said I wanted her to breed, it means reproduce. Look it up in the dictionary : American Heritage Dictionary : Breed - TRANSITIVE VERB : 1) To produce offspring; give birth to or hatch. Unlike some people who "breed" their cats primarily just to make easy money.

And the double standard you set for cats just because you assume they aren't "pedigree", is ridiculous. Did I SAY I wanted a pedigree? If a cat wasn't pedigree, does that make them less loveable or special? Does that mean they're not worth having kittens?

Lastly, the amount of talk about spaying is strange to me. My cats are indoors and I make sure they never go outside. If other owners were as responsible, the non-spayed/non-neutered cats would'nt be a problem with unwanted strays or kittens. How can you claim that you love your cats so much is you spay or neuter them? I find it hard to believe that many "cat lovers" say that declawing is inhumane but first thing they do to their cats is spay or neuter them. Any sensible human being would rather have their nails pulled out (with anaesthetic, of course) than lose their reproductive organs how do you know your cat doesn't feel that way too? You can't assume that just because it's an animal, it doesn't miss a part of him/her self. Reproducing is an instinct to every living organism from amoebas to plants to animals to human beings. So how can you say, Leslie, that they won't miss it? Were you a cat in your previous life? Can you read the cat's mind? Do you know what he/she's thinking? The answer is obviously *drum roll* No!

Hi JeanWyrostek,

In this site, something good u take it and something bad just ignore it. I've learn from my experience.
Most of them are very concern about the certificate & byb. They have their own opinion. Just take it as a good thing.
Don't worry, U'll get use to it.

All here are to learn.
