IMO,mostlikely you are miscalculating your cat`s due date.No cat will get pregnant as long as 2 and 1/2 mths, normal duration is about 60 days only.

By your discription of your cat condition,I think the due date is around any moment. So get ready for it .

First symptoms are screaming(meowing) for attention followed by discharge from genital,at this time your cat will get uncomfortable and keep walking and meowing aroud searching for best place to deliver. At the same time resting on and off licking her genital for stimulation.

My advice, please keep her "cage on" during your office hour with delivery box inside the room or cage.

Cat usually will give birth at evening(sunset) or at night time after 10.00pm but anytime is still possible.

Hi - theoretical gestation is 65 days from conception, but conception could take place up to 72 hrs or so after the 'effective' mating. If she's not moving around much, she is getting closer. Gently palpate her nipples to establish if she has milk (if she has, kittens aren't too many days off) Her body temperature will lower as she goes into labour, but a) you might not have a suitable thermometer and b) if you're out at work, you might not be around to note the change. Make sure she has a dark, quiet, enclosed place to give birth (a large box with some sort of protective shield over it), away from other animals or household noises.

Good luck!

Well, YOU'D have a thermometer! Interesting - a friend in Slovakia was MSNing me yesterday and was reporting on her female's temp.... it was dropping at a rate of at least .2 per half hour. She wasn't completely sure when the cat had mated, so after a drop of .6 I suggested she'd better get ready for pretty immediate action!
