Depends on which registry your cats are registered with. Not a BSH for CFA just like Abys X Somalis = Somali litter

It's a bit more sinister than that, Abymummy - recessive LH isn't a potential health threat!

I don't think there are any registries which would allow the straight eared to be registered as British: a) because they're obviously NOT Brits; b) those straight eared folds can actually still be prey to osteochonrodysplaysia and God forbid that should be introduced to the British genepool!

Folded to be register as Scottish Fold, Straight ears as Scottish Shorthair.

I don't understand why people just refuse to accept Scottish Shorthair as it is. No cat fancy will accept Scottish Shorthair to be registered as British Shorthair. Scottish Shorthair can only be cross with Scottish Fold and nothing else. Your solution is simple all you need is 2 pedigree British Shorthairs to produce kittens that can be register as British Shorthair.

If it's my cynicism you refer to, it's from experience. About 44 years of it in the cat fancy, internationally. Didn't mean to sound off-putting - Pussy is your local expert, so listen to her.

But be aware that not all registries will allow you to register a straight eared fold as a Scottish SH. THAT is the problem. The temptation has been proven many times in the past when that's not possible (and even when it is!) for breeders to register "British" which are not, in fact, British.

Over to you, Pussy!
