Exclamation If you care about them, please join me.

I feel like to start TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) program in Malacca, I may not be able to do it alone. Thus I urge for Malaccans who are concern on the welfare of stray cats to stand forward and join me.

As this going to be a non-profit activity, funding will come from our own pocket or maybe thru donation if there is.

We could start with 1 or 2 cats per month. Cats are trapped; neutered and release back to their original territory upon recovery. The whole cycle will take 1-2 weeks and we can always rest for 2 weeks before we gone thru the same cycle again.

Estimated cost per month is RM100-200.

The merrier the party the more strays could be neutered.

If we are consistent, gradually we are able to reduce the stray’s population.

Interested personnel, please contact me at paintercurl@yahoo.com

Thank you

this is a good campaign in my opinion..

in Singapore, the government do this to.. they trap and neuter domestic cats.. and they chip off a part of their left ear as a sign of being neutered before releasing them to the streets again..

Hei great to hear this!

Even if you are unable to gather more people into this project.....just start by own and at your own pace. Sometimes waiting for people to join in can be quite dissappointing.

When I join the forum there were lots of people with lots of thoughts wanting to do this and that for the stray population but the idea was never able to be put to action due to many factor. I even remember Catalina coming up with a very good thought of allowing people to donate RM10 for project like this ans channel it to source who does neutering and rescuing of strays but this was unable to put to action again due to many factors whereby many people had many thoughts on how and where their RM10 should go.

Years back I already start on my own.....but my only problem is once I rescue the cat/kitten and neuter them, I will built a bonding with them and makes it difficult for me to release them back to the streets.......so they all be come part of the family.

Above all I'm able to do this with my vets help. As such I would suggest for you to have a word with the vet you know to ask them to be part of this project by supporting part of the medical/neutering/spaying cost.

Good Luck!

Suzy, I have the same problem with you. I took the strays in and neutered them. But when the time I have to release them again, I felt very sad and reluctant to let them go and find many excuses not too until the vet have to persuaded me.

Yup...it is hard to gain people trust coz they never meet you.

This month I have allocate some budget to spay spottie. Her babies can mend themselves now. So it is time to spay her.

Next month will allocate some money to buy a cage as I need cage to keep the stray after neuter and try to look for some stray at wet market. They are tame, so I won't need any trap.

Later on, will have to buy a big trap. But that be next year plan.

At the moment, I'm sending the cat to veterinary department in Melaka. They agree to charge RM50 for female and RM30 for male. But must be 10 month and above.

So better for me to focus on adult strays.

yeah, its great to hear this... as for me, i can't do this as i'm easily attached. all that i've picked up end up to stay with me and as for now, i had just enough money to cater for myself and the kitty cats... well, maybe if i have more money in the future and live in corner lot house, i'll keep a neutered stray colony then! there are just too many cats that i pity for but couldn't do anything more due to financial constraints...

Hi, I am in K.L, what you are doing is so motivational. I have been planning to do the same to spay and then release them. I have done that to cats at my area, I can't give you much except my full moral support to what you are doing !! =)
