Adoption??!!
A story to share,
Last Saturday i terjumpa sepasang anak kucing kat tepi jalan. I kesian i ambil and bring them to vet. The Dr inform me that kitten ada sakit mata. So the Dr beri vaksin and ubat cacing to them. Since i already have 2 cat at home, I cannot effort to adopt two more kitten. So, I bring them to SPCA Ampang hopefully mereka mendapat jagaan terbaik di sana. Tetapi apa yg memeranjat kan I, semasa i hantar that kitten at SPCA, two of management people kat SPCA tu kata nak bagi injection mati or " put them sleep" atas alasan kucing dah banyak dan kucing tu sakit. Sedangkan I tengok kucing2 kat situ semuanyer yang sama jer dari dulu. Takder pun kucing2 baru everyday. I punya sakit hati dgn statement diorang sampai terpaksa argue dgn management kat situ. I tak sampai hati so i bring them home. Luckly my sepupu nak adopt them. Persoalan sekarang, Adakah SPCA tu hanya tempat utk kucing yang cantik2 such as DLH and persian and also sihat2 sahaja? If the answer is yes, no wonder lah adoption fee kat situ pun achive more then RM300. So charity money tu diorang wat apa sebenarnya? As a conclusion boleh lah i katakan bahawa SPCA tu bukanlah 100% tempat perlindungan kucing tetapi profit oriented organisation lah kan? Can someone please give an explanation on this?

Hmmm.... I am rather suprised that your SPCA works in the same fashion as the one in Singapore. Any cats brought to our SPCA would be culled if they found the animal with the slightest ailments. Its very sad, they do not give a chance to the animal to be treated or recover. Reason being there are tooo many cats and no space in the SPCA. The staff at our SPCA say its a better to put them to sleep so that they wont suffer in the streets, that is why the name Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. What are a sad irony
  I wished our SPCA was like the one in US, "ASPCA". They save all animals and there is a stict law on animal abusers and they even have Law enforcers for animals. All animal abusers go thru an animal programme while in prison and are educated abt the animal and they have to work with the species of the animal they have abused. How cool!

Sad to say that our SPCA is NOT a no-kill shelter. It happens. With a reported 1 million strays (cats and dogs) there is no facility large enough to cope with demand.

Even though' I too don't like the idea of putting animals to sleep but along the line I have realise it is not right to condem the SPCA's act when I don't give them fat cheque every month for the welfare of the animals. Infact I'm not even giving a slim cheque to them to ask them what they can do and cannot do.

Sorry, I bukan nak berpihak kat SPCA ker apa, tapi SPCA (KL) tak cukup space.
Anda boleh lihat banyak kucing kat situ semua DSH (yg common looking)sebab yang LH, pointed cepat di adopt. So yg banyak tinggal is the common looking cats. Tapi kita kena ingat that even though a cat is common looking tapi kadang2 personality dia top. Dan itu yang buat kita sayang pada dia.

the answer is very simple ..... do your part as part of the community.. SPCA has do theirs .. NOW YOUR TURN ... neuter or spay ... that the only solution that can help us rite now ...
