Well, i'm not sure about cats though, but i heard the services there is really bad. A dog lover sent her dog there for 2 weeks and when she came back to pick up her furkid, the dog was in such poor condition. The boarding includes bathing for her dog but when she picks up her dog, it was so smelly and with some really bad fur shedding (although hers was a short hair dog!) She thinks that the Pet Hotel people did not bath her dog, instead only put powder. That's why resulted her dog's fur shedding to the max!

I'm not sure whether this is true, but seems that words has been pass onto the dog lovers. Just to be on the safe side, i'm not going to bring my cats over there in the future.

Reading from what you all wrote, I'm having second thoughts about putting my kitty in there. But a friend of mine had no complains when he boarded his kitty at that hotel for 2 days.

I went for a “tour” to the pet hotel last week and they showed me around the place. The boarding area looks neat and clean and they have dedicated personnel to feed the cats and clean-up their litter. They have specific time for meal – twice a day. When I said there is nothing special in their hotel in my earlier post, it is because the place is basically looks normal like other boarding places too. I was actually put a very high expectation initially because they named their boarding place as a "Hotel".

Anyway, the place is good, clean, in order and looks pleasant. I give thumbs up for the place but I am afraid I cant send my cats there.

It is because I usually make a reservation for a large cage for my cats, something that the hotel can’t offer me.

They placed cats in the room made by glass made up of medium sized compartment. When I asked for a bigger space for my cats, they said they can open a glass wall that separated the compartments. So, I will have to pay for 2 rooms’ price. It is fair with me but… even the 2 rooms are still small to me. 2 rooms are the biggest boarding for cats and if you want bigger, you will have to separate your cats – 1 cat for 2 rooms.

I do not think separating my cats while their daddy is away as a wise idea, I don’t want to make them sad more.

When I send my cats to any boarding places, I always made a reservation for a big cage for my 2 cats. Usually that kind of cage is used to cater for 4 cats.

To the Pet Hotel’s owner, if you read this, please give your consideration to have many more options for your customers.

In regards to your existing customers’ complaint about their dogs and cats not being properly bath during check-out needs to be looked seriously. I have no comment about this because I have never seen it with my own eyes, but I heard about it a lot.

there's no pet hotel or motel for dat matter in kuching. basically u board ur cat or dog in a pet shop or the vet clinic who offers such services.

i'm thankful dat i've family members & good frens who r willing 2 help look after my kitties for a couple of days if i'm on traveling. they go 2 my place 2 clean & feed 'em.

Ok on vesak before I go to Kuching I went down there to see the hotel... after that I thought to myself.. the cubicle is very very small for my gal. Even if you combine 2. I could not imagine the pressure my gal will go through walking around the four small walls all the more my gal was never caged before. (I dont even own a cage..) I just allow her to roam all over inside my house... If I remember clearly, I think it may cost around MYR35 per day. Its not the money, but I think the room is just small especially considering she have had good life of roaming around my whole house. So the next best thing I did was feed her much the day before and prepared some canned food for her the morning. Than I also left a basket full of different dry cat food. When I was back on the 4th day.. there was still some food left... she was just as healthy as ever... seriously I think she couldnt be more happier...

usually i didn't left my cats long... only one/two/three nights... leave them
at home

the day before :
1. clean up their litterboxes - fill with new litter
2. ensure fresh water - fill up all the waterbowls
3. feed them canned food
4. prepare their room
5. cuddle them a lot

right before i left
1. ensure i left them a lot of kibbles
2. hug them
3. put them in their room

i like to left them in their own surroundings rather than leaving at boarding places or with other cat lovers...

anyway, my cats quite happy with the arrangement and greet me enthusiastically when i come back

Yay! Ada gak yg buat like I do. I also buat preparation for my kitten before I go away for 2 or 3 days. Although sometimes I wish I can phone him and ask how are you doing baby? Okay ke?

Thank you Jay for telling us you rent extra big cages for your cats. I'll keep that in mind.
