Hi everyone,
I'm a new member at this forum. I have 2 cats- a beautiful siamese and a 3 legged black cat. I have had cats for almost 30 years. My 1st cat was Katyi, a black kitten I picked up from the drain. She died when she was 14. I also had Persians, I still remenber their names: Tasha - a pure white Angora with blue eyes, Rheinard - a Blue Persian, and Valentino - the smoke type with green eyes, I cant remember the breed's name. But I sold them all off when my son was born. Today,my son is 17. Yeah. Long time ago! But when my kids were about 7, I adopted cats again, from SPCA and also from the streets. No more longhaired cats for me - too much work! I have had cats ever since. Now I have 2 cats - Tinkerbell, my Siamese who is paraplegic - I adopted her from the streets after she was hit by a car and left to die (she was 3 weeks old at the time!), and Ginny Tripod, a black 3 legged cat I adopted from a condo's carpark in Desa Petaling. Tinker's 3 years + today and she's fine. She can'twalk properly and has to be helped with toilet but if you look at her you won't know that there's something wrong with her, until she starts walking! She's sitting on my lap right now as I am typing. Very manja! When I can upload her pix U will be able to see her. Ginny's younger and she's also fine. Both are females and spayed. When I moved to Puncak Jalil, I renovated my wet kitchen area with enough space for at least 10 cats to move around. It is very secure and my place is very clean. (I spend all day scrubbing!) I am thinking, if anyone is interested in boarding their cats for the upcoming Raya hols, you can try me. I know cats inside out and so does my family. My children have had them all their lives. Also, my rates are probably the best in town and the cats are given a home environment to walk around instead of getting locked up in a cage in a noisy place at the professional boarders. You can email me at ginnytripod@yahoo.com, or call me at 012-914-7868. I also have dogs - 2 of them - who are also very much a part of the family as they are allowed in the house. They are pedigrees in excellent condition and are obedience trained. I do dog boarding too but I am very selective about the number, breed, sex, health, condition and behaviour of the dogs I take in. For cats, that would be no problem. Since both my cats are spayed, I cxan accept any sex, any age, any breed, any number - so long as they are in as good a condition as mine and have no fleas. I am particular about that. (If the cats are vaccinated better still as mine are). Actually I am more experienced with cats than dogs as I have the added experience of caring of a crticially injured animal for 3 years plus and have successfully brought her to this condition. The dogs and cats are separated by a child gate and a door. The separation is more to protect the dogs from the cats than the other way around! The cats are not afraid of the dogs and the dogs have never tried to hurt them. Everybody can sit together in 1 room about 1ft away fr each other and actually go to sleep, as in the case right now. My golden retriever is snoring at my feet while my siamese is on my lap. Yes, in the case of the dog vs cat, the cat is always the boss, and controls the dogs. |
