The way you deal with animals will reflect on how you deal with humans

stop breeding domestic cats | start spaying/neutering your cat(s)
stop supporting those breeders | start saving strays cat

I think it is OK if they want to sell the cats. We shouldn't be prejudiced. But I think that there is not much profit gained from buying and selling of kittens. If anybody wants to be rich, buy and sell properties, condominiums and rent out to expatriates. Not from selling kittens for RM 600 - 1200. But I guess the seller doesn't feel gutted to lose a kitten with nothing back in return. I think that is fair.

you'd be surprised how much profit you can get from backyard breeding. take basic veterinary care and premium food out of the equation and you have basically very low maintenance breeding machines. if the person doesnt allow his queens to rest but instead breeds them litter after litter you can definitely profit. but i digress.. i think faieza/rhazes was referring to owners who buy cats and then suddenly "cannot keep them"; want to find them "good homes" but insist on getting some compensation for the cats. in general we are not in favor of selling non pedigree or "part-pedigrees". if an owner is really so interested in finding the cat a new home what is wrong with adopting the pet out to not the highest bidder, but the one who can provide the best care? the main point however is to not buy/adopt cats without considering that you may get married/pregnant/move to another country etc in your lifetime.

Agreed 100%.after all if the cat/kitten is human baby, would you sell your baby or give to the loving family who can give TLC and good home for your baby?? think abt it.

I went to the pet shop this afternoon to buy my cat food, I saw one female siamese kitten for sale at RM480.I was looking at the kitten from the glass panel and suddenly I realised the kitten got 'red eye' indicating she is sick. I purposedly pointed it out to the sales girl loudly so that the customers in the shop can hear me. Quickly the took the kitten out from the cage and I pointed the eyes. 'Ini kucing mata merah.sakitlah dia.u all tak checkkah??' so happened that one family consist of bapa, ibu and anak was looking around at the other cat for sale. They were very angry with the shop for not taking care of the cats they are selling. They said to the sales girls,'ini kucing punya kandang pun byk kotor. u all tak kasih bersihkah?? klu u all nak ke tinggal kat tempat kotor?? ayoh!! I created a domino effect.satu kedai suma marah just because I pointed out abt the sick kitten.I was very sure those people are the genuine cat lovers and care abt the well being cat/kitten for sale in the pet shop. anyway, this is a good lesson for whoever run this pet shop.
