i baru je dpt tau..my dr. say diorg born in march..kira dah 8 minggu...kecik lagi..i tot dah 2 3 bulan...padanla diorg masih menyusu lagi....but cam mana la dgn kucing lagi satu yg jiran tu bela...kesian baby tu tak dpt belaian dr mak dia..kecik2 dah kena pisahkan dgn mak dia...xde susu...sedih...jgn dia simpan jadik mcm mak dia sudah...kurus kering...rasa tulang je...

i alwaz da problem...dimana bila i perlukan klinik pada hari ahad...mostly klinik tak bukak hari ahad...anyone da cadangan kat mana i bleh anta tempat yg murah, bukak hari ahad near ampang area...

cam mana nak ngam kan diorg with kucing lama? kucing lama duk wat bising je bila nampak kucing baru tu....tapi i letak all together dlm satu blik...rasany2 diorg bleh ngam tak satu hari nanti? i kesian kat kitten tu...coz kecik lagi dibandingkan dgn kucing2 yg da...

kalau kucing2 da flea, tick, n pa word lagi satu...lupa lak mula dr M...mites?

Pasal flea problem, hope experienced kind soul in the forum can give U clear, specific instructions. So far, anak-anak saya 10 orang yang X pernah kena air (mandi) selama 1 tahun ni , tak pernah lap pun, bersih aje badan dan telinga diorang (caya cakap vet I ni), semua ok aje, thank God! I baca somewhere, apply & rub in Frontline, tinggal 1 atau 2 hari, jaga mata dan hidung kucing sebab benda ni racun, lepas tu mandikan to get rid of everything. Pls. verify this info, ya?

2months is ok for spaying infact better sbb kalau tunggu lama it will be on heat again.

supposely mak kucing n baby tu mkn makanan kitten kan....but now i put all them together...diorg lagi suka makan rc sensible drpd makan proformance kitten....how a?

seblum campurkan...diorg mmg suka mkn proformance tu..sampai 3 4 kali nak kena tambah...but now langsung tak pandang....should i try give them...rc kitten? kalau diorg tak nak makan kitten food gak..cam mana....is it ok?

Mandulkan awal ada memang ada pros and cons. Tapi ada vet mengaku salah satu sebab advocating mandul awal adalah sebab takut orang X bawa balik pet tu, so miss opportunity utk. mandulkan, so better early than never. Tapi kalau ada urinary problems at a later stage, contohnya, kadang-kadang due to scar tissue ke apa sebab mandul sebelum organs fully formed dan kurang nampak, payah nak insert cathether or something, I tak ingat the full list of cons. Anyway, boleh hantar at 4 months for female sebab some of them start to go into heat at this age if not later. Organs also more developed and visible to be operated upon. But at the end of the day, depends much on the vet involved, some more skilled, some less, so I always prefer to play safe. I masih shudder when I read of things that go wrong, one of which is Min's bad experience with pretty Sunshine. Sayang all my kucings, cry buckets of tears if anything happens to any of them .... But, then again, that is just my 2 sen opinion. All the best, ya ...

Yes, I do practice early age neutering (EAN). Technically, in some places EAN can be done as early as 6 weeks of age. Some Veterinary Assoc has recognised EAN, if done from 6-8 weeks on, such as the AVMA and BSAVA.

EAN has come about due to the problems arrising from animal shelters and animal welfare associations. They found out that people who adopt young cats and dogs do not return for the neutering later on, and many that do are already pregnant or has littered at least once. Hence, the problem would be solved if they did the neutering first before giving it up for adoption.

Since working for the SPCA Selangor (at Klinik Kembiri), I do early age neutering for dogs and cats aged 2 months and above, provided they weigh at least 1kg and is healthy.

There are many suggestions on the pros and cons of EAN, and the verdict is still out there. There are vets who dont believe in them, and there are that do. Here are some of the suggested pros and cons:

PRO
1. They do not come on heat or get pregnant accidentally, and all the other benefits of neutering.
2. Dramatically decreased risk of developing mammary tumours.
3. Surgery is easier with less complications and bleeding (provided that the surgeon is good).
4. Very rapid recovery
5. Less obesity problems (this is still questionable)

CONS
1. Higher anaesthetic risk for young patients (and surgical risks too, depending on the surgeon).
2. Stunted growth (still up for debate)
3. Vaginitis and perivulval dermatitis developing later in life.
4. Increased urinary incontinence.
5. Difficulty for penile extrution (in male cats), which makes it more difficult for a vet to catheterise the cat in cases of FLUTD.

There are several studies that has been done to see if there are any significant difference for animals undergoing EAN and those neutered at a later age. Those studies show that there are not much difference between them, and is very supportive of EAN. These studies contrast the popular belief that EAN will cause FLUTD in male cats, because the diameter of the urethra is the same regardless of when the neutering was done. Hence, chances for it to have FLUTD is the same.

As for my personal experience, I am supportive of EAN. I have done quite a number of animals and do not find any significant side effect to it. I still find that those animals do obtain its average adult size. However, the long term complications is still out there for debate.

Yup someone mentioned Cheras, yup memang ada satu kat Cheras tapi don think so they open on Sunday... almaklumlah nama pun klinik kerajaan so masa nye ikut waktu kerajaan lah tapi nasib baik bukak hari Sabtu tapi rasanye sampai pukul 12pm ke... leh confirm kat dorang punye website...



memula memang camtu.. sebab bau tak sama.. kita manusia pun kalau tak kenal susah nak kawan.. give them time... introduce kan satu2... dah selalu tengok muka nanti okla... kena sabar sangat




Flea tu hama .. yang putih2 nampak macam kelemumur atas bulu..selalu nye ada kat atas kepala.... (tempat yang warm) kat badan kucing.. yang ni memang susah ilang... tick pulak kutu yang hitam... merayap2 atas badan kucing tu... mites pulak ada dalam telinga... kalau wax telinga dia itam.. aaaa.. ada mites la tu...




spray frontline tu kat atas badan and ratakan dgn tangan.. tapi for me.. i biasanye basah kan towel lepas tu perah... spray kan frontline kat atas towel and lepas tu lapkan kat badan sampai basah betul.. ala-ala wet-dry cleaning... and biarkan kering cam biasa... i tak guna frontline spot on sebab it takes about 2 days to take effect.. i biasanye guna advantage.. dalam 2 jam sumer kutu tu dah kiok dah... tapi advantage leh guna untuk kucing yang umur 4 bulan ke atas je... satu tiub kecik untuk sekor kucing yang weight dia 4kg and below.. kalau above 4kg n besar kena guna at least 2 tiub... advantage tu akan meresap dalam darah and will last at least one month before you letak lagi as precaution.. tapi kalau dah ok.. frontline je dah cukup as a standby jes incase kena lagi.. but if your cats will be indoor at all time.. shud not be much problem to get it back...
