I am so depressed.
We sent our 2 lovely cats and a dog for boarding over the xmas holidays. It was a 2 week holiday. Normally we would have our amah feed the cats at home while we send the dog for boarding if it was just a couple of days, but this was 2 weeks. and our amah was also celebrating x'mas too. so off we sent them to our vet for a two week boarding.

Just now, we picked them up, the vet with a stupid grin sat behind the counter and said 'oh, i have a very interesting story to tell. your cat escaped on x'mas day. but we found him again, killed by our guard dogs.'

I couldn't believe my ears. was he telling us a joke? the method of delivery was so insensitive. 'we don't know how he escaped. there are 35 other cats that time. we have tried our best to take care of him.'

I can't believe it....I still can't believe. I lost my cat over christmas. I can't even write about this. I just want people to know, this can happen in a vet or boarding, and they can treat it like as if its just another thing. He had the nerve to say 'I have 2 other cats, I can give one to you if you want.'.

I can't believe this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are in living in Miri, remember this - Live Animals Center. He was grinning while he was delivering the message, and he didn't even have the decency to stand up, walk around the counter to greet us and say 'I'm sorry, I have an unpleasant news.' We asked his wife why was he grinning, she said, he was trying to make it 'light'.

My cat was killed by their guard dogs...in their own words..'we found the carcass on the 27th December'. We didn't receive any calls.

Is this acceptable? Has anybody ever had this experience before?

I am really so sorry for your lost. I really cannot believe that such things could happen. This vet is really irresponsible. If I were in your shoes, I would have punched his face. Then I would sue him.

What??? A vet?? why would we called such an insensitive moron a vet?? How can the cat escaped in the first place?? I'll slap and punch he face. can somebody tell us how to sue this vet/clinic?? This guy must be one of the people who become a vet just to make a quick buck.

i am so sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. What was his/her age? How is the other cat?

Breaking bad news is a skill that we learn and master over time. Grinning and say that one has an 'inetersting' story to tell is not the best way to deliver the bad news.

Wow..my cousins learn dog first aid there on weekends or holidays. My bestfriend told me "charges" there are very cheap. I'm so sorry about ur lost. I know that clinic. Behind that big mansion right. I never send my cat there,but, for sure in the future, im not gonna send there. But got one new clinic nearby bumiko, mayb u can try there next time. but donno got boarding or not. just pass by, havent visit,but looks nice.

1. make a police report and badan pendaftar dr haiwan
2. obtain the carcass if possible, ask another vet to do some autopsy
3. find a good lawyer
4. file case at court and sue as much as possible

how come man become more insensitive towards other???

Yeah I agree.....the vet need to be sued.......but mostly probably would take a long time for the case to settle in court.


A quick way is to call the press as well to report of the incident....and press The Star, SinChiew.... etc etc....after the reports has been done.

And if there is such things as vet's association of Miri....report to them as well.....

Aiyoooooo I know how the feeling is......I have come across aXX hXXX vet like this......who was list bothered when my cat ran out of her clinic.... I lost my cat forever......
