I have nothing against M'sian breeders or any breeders around the world. It's just that the breeders' reputation and credibility that I'm questioning.

Nothing's gonna stop me from venturing into the cat fancy world. I would love to attend the clerking school. Any details?

Sorry I'm not sure if I can remember who enquire abt my kittens as I do hv quite a number of enquiry at time but I hv to say tht I don't sell my kitten entire to ppl I don't know or without a good referal from a trustworthy person. As I hv said many time before all my cats are a member of my family to me & not like what some so call cat lover or so call reputable breeder who feel a cat is just a cat & no more.

My advice to ppl who wish to go into breeding to do a lot of research or at least own a desex cat of tht breed & show to learn more in the process & hv better understanding of what they are abt to jump into.

No worries. Tats how a responsible breeder should be, very cautious not to release their family members to any TOM, DICK OR HARRY. well done.

from a HHP pont of view

i'd like to add my two cents from the HHP owners prespective.

i love shows! it's fun; i see beautiful cats, talk to cat people and as time goes by, hopefully cats shows will become good places to buy cat stuff. also, the HHP ring is a good way to remind people that domestics are also beautiful. they sometimes have more character and poise than the peds.

i tend to think of pedigreed cats as royalty and domestics as plebs, like myself. so when my domestics win, i feel a real high. it makes me remember that even ordinary people are special.

and a final bonus is if the publicity brings attention to one of our rescues and they then find a good home because they did well in the show! that's super duper absolutely the best

It takes as much work to present a HHP looking 100% as it does almost anything except persians - and there's that extra factor HHP have to have - personality and charm. THAT doesn't come out of a bottle or at a groomer's parlour; it's the result of love and care. If that's plebian, then I'm all for it!

And absolutely yes to the adoption factor - my favourite HHP adoption/show story was the 1999 ACF National, when a semi LH (very Siberian looking, actually!) from the Hobart Cat Centre was one of 6 free entries we invited to come - "Murphy" was adopted by 11.30am by some Devon/Somali exhibitors and by 4pm was the nation's top unpredigree cat!
