Actually... that HHP BIS is a PERSIAN.
He was born with 3 leg - that's why he can only be shown in HHP class.
But the thing that amazed me is that - he was groomed so perfectly. His grooming was even better than any other persians in the show.
This is a good example as to why cat show is so important.
Even when his owner know that his cat is handicap and cannot be bred, that won't stop him from caring and grooming his cat to the perfection.
He deserved that BIS!

Lesley, maybe u missed it, but Catizzadi said it was born that way.
Wouldnt it be heritable if it's being bred?

Personally, I don't think the skeletal deformity will be passed to the offsprings.
But he can't be bred - becoz he was neutered!

i took a long look at that persian before. i just can't help but think, "what a beautiful persian he is" sorry but i think he is persian first and dlh second. why? he is very persian except he is deformed. it must be the reason why he is shown in HHP. anyway, he is the most beautiful persian in show even though he can only be shown in HHP class. congrats to the owner!

Ahhh, I seee
But, even if it doesnt heritable, I wouldnt want to breed him, hehe.
I think the act of mating for 4 legged cats is already hard work (haha, seen some ) let alone 3 legged! Hihihihi...

I did miss it....the posting wasn't up when I asked the Q. Depends on why it had 3 legs as to whether it's heritable. If it is indeed inherited deformity then I hope the parent(s) are now desexed, not to mention the siblings!
