Dear all, need your urgent advise.

There's this kitten i've been feeding for a week plus since the mother was missing. Last nite i was away to buy cat food and when i returned, it was missing. I found him the next morning in the drain in front of my house, wet and scared, screaming for help.

When cleaning it only i realised that this kitten either have a broken or dislocated left hip or thigh. It cant move or run around anymore and just lie on the ground crying in pain whenever i touched that part. It also just pee and shit there as it cant move around. And i'm pretty sure someone in my neighbourhood must've use him as a penalty kick practise as it's very impossible for injury to happen in a 1-foot deep drain. This kitten has jumped down from alot higher before.

I cant bear to see it suffer this way and thinking of sending it to a vet for euthanasia, but on the other hand, i cant bring myself to becoming a murderer for sending to death an otherwise a very adorable and playful kitten..

Please help me advise what to do. Nobody in my family is free or willing to take care a disabled cat, me included as i'm away for work every day. i have no idea if he will heal, and how long.... Please please need your advise....

Off to a vet, now. There may be a chance it's not a long-term disablement.

any chance of a vet that opens after office hours in klang or surrounding area? when i checked online yesterday, mostly are closed by half day.

plus how much does a vet's consultation charges usually? i cant afford to fork out too much as my budget is really tight. when i looked at it this morning, he was dragging itself painfully. the whole of rear left leg was like dangling like an extra piece of meat from the buttocks.

further, i wonder if SPCA would be able to help, probably with their volunteer vets? any help?

AMC(animal Medical center) have 24H service. today is monday, just bring it to the vet and set your mind to cure it instead of to PTS. it might not be able to walk as normal cat, but at least it will be able to walk and move by its own. I have few experience on this.. and one of it already run away from my house after he recovered.. hope he still alive outthere... and hoping he will be back or I can found him somewhere out there... only after medication, you will need to do some phisical therapy like massaging and straching his leg and backbone area.. get advice from the vet.

any rough idea of the cost? AMC the nearest to klang would be in Mutiara Damansara.. i'll try and see if i can get it out tonight after my work.

my parents has had in their mind to dispose of this lil' kitty, and i've been trying to delay their intention since yesterday. the faster i can get this kitty back up in shape then i would be less worried if he was to be sent off somewhere.

if he would be sent off without treatment, then it would be more humane to put it down than to die of hunger if he cant seek food for his own survival.

I would strongly suggest u cure the little fellow first, then opt for adoption rather than cure him & to be sent off somewhere. U could put up an ad for him in here or petfinder.my or at mudah.com. I don't believe in putting a cat's down either if he is terminally ill or we thought he couldn't survive on his own. It is not our choice. Please heal him first than find some one to adopt him or find a friend who could foster him for a while.

dear all, i have managed to contact SPCA and they have agreed to let their vet have a look at the kitten tomorrow. if the kitten can be treated, they will undertake the treatment while i will try to look up a foster home for the kitten. however if the kitten cant be saved, SPCA is in the opinion that it would be more humane to put him down.

So, please help pray for the well being of this lil' kitten. i know there are many out there without help, so please pray for others as well. I am inexplicably attached to this lil kitten but my home is not a pet-frienldy home so i have no choice but to have it adopted by someone else.

Eventhouh SPCA is the last place in my mind. But, it's far more better than not to do anything, right? I know u have the best interest at heart toward this little fellow. Who wouldn't? I will pray for u and him...Hang in there little one!

P/S: It's hard to let go something that is so close to our heart...I understand u, dear. Be strong for his sake.

Same here. He just wanted to send the kitten to the vet at SPCA, it is ok with me. But please dont leave the kitten there..
