Cat Forum - why are cat trees expensive?

I basically have to buy my cats toy mice every week. Once it gets entangled in dust, fur or drown in their water fountain, I throw them away. Their favourite is ping pong balls or laser pointer.

Just to also add, they can't see shoe lace and string lying around, they go beserk.

Making a scratch pad is really easy.. just take a carton box, cut 1 inch stripes and use NON-TOXIC glue to glue the stripes together to make a pad, you get same surface as cardboard scratch pads costing RM30-40

I made a couple at home, some on floor, some hang vertically.

The cost is not really cheap as rope cost 40 to 60 cents per feet and need 100-200 feet easily... usually make because the base is more stable & taller, the commercial ones, kitties don't get to stretch in full

Next project soon, looking for a tree trunk with branches that reach ceiling height...
