Default Eyes and Hair

1. Goober has some *dunno* below his eyes (refer pic himalayan redppoint for adoption). Former owner said can be cleaned with cotton bud. Tried but not all went away. Next day, the remains kinda darkened, almost black. Dried out. Oh, I used plain water to wash. Scared to use sabun cos below the eyes. Ideas?

2. Baru bela kucing, amik longhair. Pandai! Couldnt help it, he's so pretty. Any grooming places in Ampang area? I took him from Petzone (Uptown), kinda far. But if no other choice, then I'll take him there lor.

Thanks.

those are discharge, like tears coz goober's a flatface/shortface, and this type of cat will have this condition. Wet cotton bud/pad with warm water and wipe - usually that would work.

As for grooming, I think you can get a comb and brush for start and try to groom him. Do check with the previous owner their own grooming practice. Can't help you there with the grooming places in Ampang coz I'm staying in Kepong/Damansara area...

I'm also a first time owner of cat, and I also have a longhair white cat but I got her for almost 8 months so..

Hi Arnee..as for my Justin also I got to clean up his eyes regularly..otherwise it always become watery with his "taik mata" oso..So everyday I clean up his eyes with wet tissue/cotton ball.

Grooming places nearby Ampang is at Animal Medical Center at Jalan Tun Razak. The phone no is : 03-40426742. But how about Pet world at Great Easter Mall? Try to ask them whether they provide the services?

I clean Izzi's eyes at least twice a day.
I use some sort of stain remover with cotton ball but the stubborn yellowish stain stay no matter how hard and often I clean it.

Does anyone have any secret/tip to share?

You can use toothbrush to comb the face hair. And if the discharge is smelly it might also be infection. Check with your vet.

similar like us, we do hv tahi mata, so u need to b regularly clean Goober's eyes. juz see whether is there any pinkish markings around his eyes n if there is n lasted for a few days, he migh hv eye infection. solution? bring him to the vet. Never, never, never use human eye drops or any sort of human medications for our cats!!! Big mistake if u do that...

grooming? well, y not u do it urself? juz get a comb n comb Goober. u juz need to learn hw to get rid of the tangles shud it got bad. i groom my Speed n yeah, not professional but soon to be (i guessed )
