Fluffier Fur... How?
hi, got a question. i wish to make my cat's fur more "fluffier"... like soft plush dolls... but she's a DSH. so is there anyway? like shampoos, supplements reccomendations? i groom/comb my cat everyday since she likes it very much. y i wan a my cat to be fluffier? better hugs i guess...

 My abys have beautiful soft shiny coats but fluffier? I don't think so can la!!! In this case all I can say is just go for beautiful, shiny, soft and healthy coats and be happy with it!!!

1 stupid question
I heard that air conditioning will make the coat (of the cat) somewhat longer/thicker (mcm Jay punya Trey) If a short haired is kept in an air conditioning enviro for a long time, won't it have a somewhat longer/thicker coat compared to a short haired which is kept in a normal temperature? If this works, is there a way that we can make the coat fluffier or maybe the cat will already be somewhat fluffier than other short hairs ? Malu lah with this question but still had to ask Edited at 10.49am : With what is going on in the other thread, please correct me if my assumptions are wrong.TQ I guess there is a difference in longer and thicker. Thicker maybe because the creature (in this case, the cat) needs to adopt it's body temperature to the temperature of it's surrounding ? Longer ? Dunno lah

Hi radiounit,
well, depending hw short fur ur DSH got coz if his fur is as short as an Abyssinian, i dun think u can get it fluffy but u can make the coat look shiny n silky. u need to give ur cat those supplements for cat coating. like some of my DSH which has fur approx 1cm, i used a lil bit of cat conditioner to make their coat 'soft' during their bath. as what melissa mentioned abt air-conditioning, well, she had quoted a good example (Jay's cats that is... ), u cud make a DSH's fur to grow slightly longer n lebat but of course u dun expect to transform a DSH to DLH lah in this way lah...

Suzy, you have misunderstood me...if you read my post properly, I OWN/BREED SHORTHAIR CATS! There's absolutely nothing wrong with DSH, infact I own 6 of them! I thought the thread was about LH cats domestic or otherwise and how to get them to have fluffier fur!!!
ANYWAY, I've never seen SH cats with winter coats, but I would assume that the fur is thicker, more dense, but not neccessarily fluffy. I shall try the a/c theory out soon! I'd have to agree with H about supplements and conditioner. The point of SH coats is to make them soft, silky, glossy and healthy looking.

Pergi Zoo negara, you akan nampak Polar bear yang almost hairless (jadik DSH) sebab Malaysia ni panas. Pergi north or south pole, polar bears sana bulu dia cukup lebat dan panjang.Melissa, Trey tu memang DLH. Kalau I pindah dengan orang Eskimo kat north pole, i rasa bulu dia lagi cantik! PS- Makanan and TLC pun memainkan peranan jugak.
