any comments from others forumers?

An almost immediate solution is to neuter, had this issue with Angel before. No more oily tail ever since but I remember the vet telling me to do a super quick wash with dish washing liquid if I wanted to get the oil off. But of course to be sure whether it is a situation influenced by the male sex hormone testosterone or something else, go have your vet check it out. You wouldn't want to apply the wrong oil elimination treatment for the wrong reasons.

No joke Horatio, that's what the vet said. I can still remember it today as it was the first non-cat product solution I've ever used. But definitely after neutering, you won't have this problem anymore if it is a hormonal issue.

Anyway, re-check with your vet before you do this if you have an oily tail situation. Sometimes, it could be what they call the "stud tail" symptom where the oily foundations are similar. That will require other forms of treatment.

dandruff on cats? is it suppose to refer as flakes meaning dry (or dead) skin on the body of a cat or even dried body oil of a cat. How long u had used Malaseb?

I've been using Malaseb for almost a year now.Last 2 weeks,I brought my cat to Heshmael's Pet Clinic and talked to Dr Saudi about Bobol's condition.Bobol has been hurting himself, chewing his tail until berdarah2.Sometimes he'd jump around with no reason.I rasa sebab badan dia gatal2.Bila dia dah start to chew his tail,I couldn't take it and went to the vet.Dr Saudi and Dr Hasnol told me that Bobol might be stressed. And they injected Bobol with steroid. The weird thing is Bobol don't have any fungus infections.Ticks and fleas pun takde. But he would keep scratching and biting his tail.Yang itu yang buat I risau sangat2.Yang kelakarnya Bobol likes to stare at his tail mcm ekor dia tu enemy! But after the steroid injction, dia dah tak terlompat2,but still trying to chew his tail.I kena pakai kan e-collar all the time.Bila time makan je i buka.I'm still worried of Bobol's condition.I might go and see Dr Hasnol/Saudi to do a thorough checkup.Mana lah tau,ada penyakit lain..
