junk food xde, i've warned my family jgn kasik makan merapu cos he's got his own food. occasionally i give him nutro natural wet food (only the gravy, the meat he put aside) and hill's prescription a/d. now he's eating less IAMS kibbles and more of those two wetfood. somebody told me it's not a good pratice to feed them wet food regularly. dunnola. ideas??

from my experience la, too much wet food - every meal also not good. esp if your cat is a bit on lazy side, to groom himself after meal. maybe the salt content is high? try to stop giving him wet food and only feed kibbles. or consult your vet?

i dun think so...he's by far the happiest cat i've ever seen in my life, really. he plays a lot, he jumps and bounce here and there and understand when i get tired and retires right next to me in bed when i sleep at night. just last night, we had a fun game of hide and seek. very very smart kitty, he found me everytime and jumped on me! i think it's true what they say about domestic cats...they are very smart compared to some pedigree cats.

maybe i should try the vet shampoo.

maybe sometimes i can learn how to play hide and seek with my cats... usually we just cuddling or lying around.

is knight the only cat? maybe he need company of his own species.

but better check with the vet first, or do some research. the internet is a good start.

yea, catalina, i've thought about getting him a companion of some sort la to keep him company while i'm off at work or in college. but at the same time i don't want him to feel as though he has to compete for my attention. plus, another existing cat, according to my vet, will only make him start spraying to mark his territory.

for now, he's a perfect obedient kiddo who listens to everything i say. he doesn't leave home, and i can leave the window and the balcony door wide open when he's alone at home because he's scared of height, although i don't practice that often, just in case the little birdie outside catches his attention. but the fur thingy, really make me pening la...

hi lucy,

Great to know you are having so much fun with knight. Wah siap main menyorok2 lagi..

The best thing is to check his condition with vet. I also have that problem recently with louie. He just recover from his earlier sickness. He sheds alot of fur. Everytime he licks himself.. alot of fur come off. I check with my vet and after general chekup, no problem.

Vet said nothing to be alarmed as cats sometime sheds fur heavily once every year.. usually several days.. or a week.

As he is persian.. i just give him felixin to curb hairball. Now he's okay.. didt shed fur as much as before..

I hope it's only normal shedding.

ok Lucy,
juz came thru my mind while reading ur posts. well, can u c whether his fur on his belly is normal or is a bit thin. if u always see him licking his belly or his wee-wee part, it is a sign of concern. Last time, when my Wesley did that, it is a sign of him getting urinary tract; meaning crystals form in his bladder n the crystals had blocked his urine passage. Besides licking his belly or pvt part, he wud go to the toilet very often than usual. The reason is that he could not get his urine out at all or only a bit of urine came out. This factor will cause stress to a cat n stress will make a cat shed fur. just a precaution ya. Therefore, we shud oftenly check whether our cats wee-wee accordingly.
