She went missing 3 days ago. 4 days back she didn't appear in the morning but came back at noon for her meal. Sometimes she did that, dissappear for half a day, then come back. But this time she is missing for far too long, and I'm devastated.

I call her Jane, but she answers mostly to my callin her "Girl". She's actually a stray I've been feeding since when kitten, and she sleeps outside as my househould do not abide by cats inside the house.

As a stray who lives and sleeps outside, what could have happened? Stolen because she's friendly, or killed, or poisoned ? - I don't want to imagine those!

I've been crying my eyes out every day, and I don't how I'm going to stop, I'm going crazy with grief. I can't talk about this to friends or family, as they'd laugh because I'm crying over a lost stray cat. And, she has a big brother cat, both very close, who is now wandering around the back of the house, crying and looking for her. Every time I hear him cry out I have to cry too.

Please help me, tell me on how to stop grieving.

Jane's a lovely cat ... so sorry she's missing. if she has not been spayed, chances are she's gone off with a mate - and might return pregnant.... if that is the case, she's still "safe", just "displaced" for now.
but whatever the possibility, i can't give u a formula on how to stop grieving cos when u care, it hurts!
over time the pain of separation (and uncertainty) gets easier to bear but it's still there.... i know cos our dog was missing for 9 weeks and we've lost a few cats over the last 2 years. the latest incident involved one of the kittens we are looking to rehome. we'd been worried as he failed to come back on wed & thur. thank God we finally found him this morning.

Hope Jane returns but if she doesn't, u have good memories u can cherish. take care.

i understand how u feel.....will pray 4 u n ur cat...hope u get ur cat back ya....by the way no need 2 feel shy or ashame just bcoz u cry for ur lost cat.....i am sure most of the forumer in here will cry when they lost their cat....i am one of them too....when my cat r missing i cry like hell n go to house by house to ask 4 my cat...still crying though....eventually tats make them 2 help me find my cat... try 2 do something rather then just sit there n wait....post up poster ,find at ur housing area,giv out poster n etc....u will be in my prayer...take care

I m vry touched by yr experience. U r very great to have so much love for a simple stray like Jane. I have also lost some of my beloveds and I share yr pain (it is very real) not knowing what happened to them and if they died, U dont know where their bodies are, not being able to see or touch them again, tak sempat to hold them 1 last time and tell them U love them sooo ... When my sayangs died, lucky I jumpa them around my house, I held them, cried over them and told them over and over Mummy loves them very, very much. Many days after that, I closed my eyes and concentrate hard on them, visualising them in my mind, holding and loving them, talking softly to them, tell them I love and miss them soooo ... but I hope that they have found peace and I hope to see them again when I die. Many people believe cats are very psychic and will make contact with U and I believe it bcos my sayangs have all made contact with me to tell me thank you so much so all the sayang I gave them and please Mommy don't hurt so much and they love me too. What U need to do is pejam mata and really focus on them in yr mind. At first I thought it was rediculous but my heart hurt so much so I tried it. After that I felt so relieved and could let go, though I still think of every one of them and miss them dearly. But I do so with a smile and happier heart, knowing they will are ok in Heaven where there is no suffering... But if Jane does turn up again, spay & kurung at least at night, sbab they come alive at night, chasing anything that moves (they are hunters by instinct and night animals). Siang lepaskan dia not so bad, tapi then U need to watch out for other dangers & poisons, etc.

At the same time, in yr grief, remind yrself that the other cats need U and give more attention and cuddles to Jane's brother bcos he is also grieving and feeling a lot of pain.

Hope U can spend time cuddle and sayang Jane's brother a lot bcos he is suffering (real!). My cat lost her brother who was her playmate dari kecil and my! she really was depressed and hurting, until now pun masih grieving! She is a very loving girl, quiet, suffer in silence type, so I cuddle her a lot and talk gently softly to her, give her treats (boiled chicken breast) and only now she start to emerge a little bit, tapi masih menung sendirian a lot. Kesian sungguh! So I cuddle/belai her and talk with her about our love for her brother, how we miss him too, that he was a very handsome and special boy ...
